Can The Devil Read Your Mind?

Can the devil read your mind? Most people hope that he can’t, but they aren’t sure. Even those who are Christians wonder if Satan knows what they’re thinking, at least some of the time. The answer is simple. From a biblical standpoint the answer is a unequivocal NO! Why then does it seem like Satan knows our thoughts sometimes? There are two parts to this answer. First let’s see what the Bible says. Second, I’ll explain the practical process by which the devil gives the impression that he knows our thoughts.

Our online educational track Bob Larson University has a detailed explanation regarding this dilemma in the fourth department, the Institute of Supernatural Studies, Course #4. If you want a comprehensive answer to this question, regarding the devil reading your thoughts, enroll now by clicking here. The matter of Satan’s intrusion into our mind is far more complex than most realize, but to give you a quick answer consider these scriptures:

  • “The Lord knows the thoughts of man” (Psalm 94:11 NKJV).
  • “The Lord searches all hearts [minds] and understands all the intent of the thoughts” (1 Chronicles 28:9 NKJV).

Other verses express the same sentiment, that Satan can’t read our minds. There is no biblical example of the devil ever reading the thoughts of an individual. Clearly, the province of thought formation in human consciousness is sacred and inviolable. It is part of the will. God himself may know our thoughts, but even He does not force his thoughts upon it. If God doesn’t violate our thoughts by force to make us think what He wants, He certainly wouldn’t let Satan do it. What, then, is the mental mechanism that Satan uses to make it look like he’s reading our thoughts? Here is what happens.

A demon speaks into the mind of a person a certain temptation, such as sexual sin. The individual hears the demonic thought and acts upon it. If the sin is then committed, the victim feels as if the devil knew he/she had lustful desires. It’s the devil’s high degree of accuracy in planting thoughts and watching responses that gives the impression he knows what you are thinking. It’s an almost instant feedback loop of a mentally implanted temptation and the sin that follows, followed by the devil inserting yet another similar temptation in the mind. Suggestion and response, followed by yet another suggestion and response.

Our goal as a Christian is not only to reject sinful impressions in our thoughts. We must also heed Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in your which was also in Christ Jesus” (KJV). The devil doesn’t know your thoughts, he only reads your response. And he will be less likely to do that if you truly seek the mind of Christ.” Remember, for more information go to boblarsonuniversity.org.

5 Things Necessary to Cast Out Demons

Talk of deliverance is everywhere in the Christian community. It has become almost faddish to speak of casting out demons, especially among Christians of Gen X and Z. This is cause for much rejoicing and some hand wringing. Where Christ is preached, we rejoice (Phil 1:18). But Satan knows that he has been delivered a blow and isn’t sitting back. If he can’t stop the wave of interest in deliverance, he’ll find ways to discredit it with extremism, indiscretion, and lack of practical, theological balance. He’ll add to it over-zealousness that borders on spiritual abuse. Caution, maturity and carefulness when addressing the matter of demonic possession seems in short supply in certain Christian circles.

If Satan can’t succeed by getting the church to avoid the subject of demons, he’ll try to derail the matter with eccentricities, questionable epistemology, and unwise tactics. I could give you a long list of specifics, but that might reflect negatively on some well-meaning deliverance ministers. Instead, let me emphasize the positive approach of what SHOULD be done instead of slamming the lack of prudency with a broad brushstroke. Consider these five basic approaches to deliverance and exorcism that I believe should be heeded. If you want to know more, check out our online teaching track at boblarsonuniversity.org.

1) PROPER INTAKE OF INFORMATION: A conclusive exorcism should NEVER be attempted without first gathering sufficient information about the person who is supposedly manifesting demons. Demonic displays may erupt unexpectedly, but unless the demon’s host is known to the deliverance minister, the demons should be shut down and some fact-finding ought to be done. When someone schedules a virtual or in-person encounter through our ministry, a detailed personal and family profile is always required before their appointment is confirmed. Even with the live, spontaneous manifestations which occur in our public meetings I stop to get some basic facts before proceeding. Commanding demons to leave an individual you don’t know and about whom you have no understanding of their mental health history is dangerous and unethical in most cases.

2) METHODICAL PROCEDURES: Deliverance and exorcism is ALWAYS about a process. It should never be an abrupt interruption. Even what some call “power encounters,” aggressive prayer techniques, need some format of procedure. It is clear from Christ’s example, that he got information from demons (Legion), he asked questions of family members (the man with a possessed son), and he took time to test the supplicant’s faith (the woman with a possessed daughter). In Bob Larson University we teach a protocol of deliverance with guidelines on how to proceed. There can be exceptions to this rule in extreme cases, such as an unanticipated violent outburst. Even then what happens next should be methodical and structured, leading to the demon’s acknowledgment of defeat and its doom in the pit.

3) BREAKING CURSES: Both generational and contemporary curses need to be broken. Some who seek my help have read our “Curse Breaking” book and are already familiar with the appropriate renunciations. I may still “spot check” by having the individual repeat breaking some curses which are obvious, such as a family history of witchcraft. When no curse breaking prayers have taken place, it is essential to confront these bondages to properly go on with the deliverance process. Not taking this precaution, can disrupt the exorcism at some later point.

4) INNER EMOTIONAL HEALING: When and where to insert this part of the deliverance process can be variable. But the client’s emotional and mental status must be assessed in some way.  The one doing deliverance should be acquainted with the possessed person’s life history. This is especially important when the one seeking prayer has been a victim of physical or sexual abuse. Deliverance on a person afflicted with PTSD, anxiety disorders, severe depression, or mental health issues should not be attempted until past emotional wounds have been addressed. This may mean using so-called inner healing prayers, dealing with dissociative identity disorder, or referring the possessed person to a Christian counselor to deal with past hurts. In addition, prayers for physical healing are often necessary due to the internal systemic damage that demons have done to the body.

5) OBJECTIFY DEMONIC ACTIVITY: Don’t rely alone on hunches or prophetic and intuitional insights alone. In most cases, demonic verification is helpful by having the demon confirm his right of entry. The demon can also reveal the exact source of any bloodline curses as well as mental strongholds or addictions. It’s usually helpful to force the demon to acknowledge what other evil spirits inhabit the host and reveal the hierarchical structure of power inside the supplicant’s soul. What I’ve set forth is a very abbreviated outline compared to the many hours of teaching in Bob Larson University. If you are serious about helping those bound by Satan, please make the deliverance process a matter of study and life-long learning. The need is great, the laborers are few, and the moral decay of our world has resulted in a ripe harvest field of souls desperate to be free. Do your “homework” before doing deliverance. You’ll be more spiritually successful, and Christ will truly get the glory for a labor of love well done.

Latest New Age Fad – Dark Room Demons!

Three-time NFL-MVP Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is off on another spiritual journey to nowhere. Twice he has jetted to Peru to take part in witchcraft ceremonies involving the hallucinogenic drug ayahuasca. A shaman witchdoctor guided Rodgers’ mental journeys into so-called “higher states of consciousness.” (Read that as the description of a demon possession ritual if you understand biblical spiritual warfare.) Several times last football season, after throwing touchdown passes, Rodgers celebrated with teammates in the end zone by mimicking drinking ayahuasca brew. This psychoactive drug apparently didn’t help his on-the-field performance. Last season was the worst of his career. So much for spiritual enlightenment.

As I write this blog, Rodgers is considering leaving the Packers, the only team of his NFL-lifetime. He must convince the next team that his athletic skills haven’t aged in 17 seasons. But before making his final career decision Rodgers is heading off to a four-day, dark room meditation retreat.

What’s that? Dark room meditation retreats are the latest New Age fad designed to find one’s true spiritual essence. Complete sensory deprivation is the goal. Days on end in a sparse room, often with little or no furniture. Total darkness. No glimmer of light. Food delivered once a day. No sound. A simple bathroom if the participant can find it. The experience can last several days or a week. Some try it longer, up to 40 days! Many darkness advocates report seeing strange floating lights and orbs in the total blackness. Others speak of visitations by beings of a “higher spiritual order.” Where did this concept come from?

Though New Agers are making dark meditation a popular stop on the trip to spiritual enlightenment, the concept has been around for centuries. Many pagan spiritual traditions have used the practice to alter consciousness. One origin is in Tibetan Buddhism, which my research has shown to be the most highly developed of all non-Christian religions claiming supernatural powers. Dark retreats are an advanced spiritual practice of the Dzogchen lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Spontaneous religious, visual experiences are the goal, seeing with mind rather than the eyes. Yogis claim that dark retreats can lead to visions of deities including shining goddesses. Body energy channels are said to be opened so the powers of these demon deities can flow through the participant.

Another dark retreat purpose is to understand how to navigate between death and the next reincarnation, a state known in Buddhism as “bardo.” In brief, dark rooms seek to lead one into the intermediate spiritual existence leading to the reincarnated state of another life form. To students of the Bible, this is blasphemy and the ultimate lie of Eden’s serpent. While tempting Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, Satan said, “You shall not surely die. Your eyes will be opened, and you will be like god” (Genesis 3:4-5).

Aaron Rodgers like other new age seekers today, may aspire to deeper spiritual understanding in a dark retreat. But the end of such quests may lead to an even deeper blackness, the outer darkness of Hell. Jesus warned of this in Matthew 8:12, when He declared that Hell would be a place of “weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Wherever Rodgers plays next season, if he doesn’t repent of his dark retreat evil, he and those who follow his pursuit will eventually end up in the darkness of eternal separation from God.

This Demon And Its Snakes Will Surprise You!

The demon Jezebel has many forms and prototypes of evil. These are alternate identities with different names that have emerged throughout history.  My book “Jezebel—Defeating Your #1 Spiritual Enemy” lists some of them: Isis, Artemis, Ashtoreth, Astarte, Kali, Delilah, Diana, Athena—it’s a long list. Each has the basic characteristics of Jezebel, which are sexual lust, control, manipulation, spiritual murder, seduction, and so on. Each of Jezebel’s adaptations of evil has a slightly different motif of deception and operation.

One of the most vicious is Jezebel in the form of the pre-Christian Greek goddess Medusa. She was depicted in ancient Greece as a human female with poisonous snakes protruding from her hair. According to legend, one look at her and her venomous vipers can turn a person, usually a male, into stone. In one version of the Medusa myth, she is seen as a marine spirit with whom Neptune/Poseidon, Greek god of the seas, had sex in the temple of Athena. As punishment for this profanation, the beautiful hair of Medusa was changed into frightening snakes. This hideous demon has been featured in several TV commercials, including a promotion for Amazon Prime.

I have faced this demon as a variant of Jezebel many times. Recently she manifested in a woman who had struggled for many years with relationships. She had been married three times and added to that a string of lovers who violently abused her. This led to extreme immorality and many abortions. When the demon first manifested, I thought it was Jezebel. The demon played coy and finally said, “I’m Medusa.” The demon revealed that each of the seven men in her life was one of her “snakes.” As she went from man to man, each previous soul-tie relationship added yet another snake spirit to Medusa’s coiffure.

If you have a sexually checkered personal history, Medusa might be involved. Begin fighting back by renouncing every soul tie with each partner. One by one, cut off the spiritual snakes each individual represents. Declare the purity of Christ over these past indiscretions. Receive healing and cleansing according to the promise of Isaiah 1:18-19: Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.” And if you sense you need deliverance, contact us immediately. We’ll show you how to cut off the hair locks of Lucifer and send the snakes of Medusa slithering back to Hell!

Think You Have Demons? Quickly Do These 3 Things!

You’re likely reading this blog because you suspect that you might have demons. Perhaps you are tormented in supernatural ways. Possibly a friend or loved one who has shown an interest in the topic of deliverance. Maybe you’ve come across our online teaching or other social media exploring the topic of demons. Whatever has piqued your interest in the idea of certain people having demons, don’t brush this urging aside. It could be curiosity. It might also be the Holy Spirit prodding you to seek this kind of spiritual help. Your problem may need a solution deeper than the advice most churches offer. If there is a possibility that you might have demons, where do you start to address the issue?

First, engage in focused, well-informed curse breaking.  Second, find an individual or a prayer group that knows how to take you through what is called “inner healing.” Third, take spiritual inventory of your life. Make a list of your damaged relationships, your interest in non-Christian views of spirituality, and any trauma you’ve experienced, especially during your developmental years. These three steps won’t necessarily resolve your situation, but they will lead you to further explore biblical solutions. If you want to learn more about ways to understand deliverance and exorcism, go immediately to boblarsonuniversity.org and enroll in our online educational track about spiritual warfare. You can also check online at boblarson.org and explore our library of books and opportunities of virtual or in-person ministry. In the meantime, let me further explain these three things you need to do immediately.

#1 – CURSE BREAKING: A curse is an evil intention invoked over your life or your bloodline. It may have been deliberate like a voodoo doll or a satanic ritual. It may have been consequential.  By this I mean that an ancestor committed some terrible evil and the consequences of that sin continue down through the generations to affect you now. Deuteronomy chapter 28 in the Old Testament speaks of what we call generational curses. You can learn very precise ways to address this matter in our book entitled “Curse Breaking.”

#2 – INNER HEALING: This a prayer process that involves discovering what emotionally disturbing events may have traumatized your life to some degree. It could be some abuse you suffered as a child. It could be something like rejection, neglect, a broken family system, or emotional instability in your past. These memories and negative, life-defining moments need to be reframed with a perspective of Christ’s healing and grace. It’s what I call redefining the point of the pain, viewing the emotional wounds of your past in the perspective of God’s mercy. In the absence of inner healing, Satan can exploit these previous mental injuries as an opening for demons

#3 – PERSONAL SPIRITUAL INVENTORY: Make a list of all the ways that you may have opened doors to the devil. These include past involvement in cults, alternative religions, New Age practices, and any non-biblical beliefs. List all your past sexual partners with whom you may have formed a soul-tie that needs broken. Include any evil actions or indulgences such as drug or alcohol abuse, illegal or criminal behavior, or immoral indulgences. In addition to seeking the forgiveness of Christ you should ask the Lord to show you what demons might have entered by these deeds of disobedience. Repent of each spiritual rebellion in your inventory and ask the blood of Jesus to close every opening that demons might have used because of your past sins

Doing these three things isn’t an end-all to spiritual liberation, but it’s a start. It likely won’t fix all your spiritual problems. But it moves things in the direction of a solution. It’s a direct, introspective way of getting free from the bondage that you’re experiencing. Do what you can on your own, and then contact us for further guidance by referral to one of our ministry teams or a qualified associate minister. You can also explore the possibility of meeting with me personally. If you have demons, it’s not a situation that you can put on hold or mentally shelve for reconsideration at a later time. Take action now, if you think you have demons.

Spiritual Hoarding Invites Demons

Are you a hoarder? You can have your living environment perfectly pristine, and still be a hoarder. I’m speaking about being a spiritual hoarder.  A hoarder in the commonly understood sense is someone who hangs on to things they don’t need long after these items have served their usefulness. It’s a mentality that says, “What if I need it someday?” The hoarder just can’t discard unnecessary objects. Eventually, the obsession of keeping things can become unsafe and unhealthy. Personal relationships are damaged because no one wants to be around all that junk. Hoarding is an obsessive attachment to objects and things that provides a false sense of security. The hoarder feels safe with all their stuff even though others may find it nauseating.

Spiritual hoarders do the same thing. I will list some of the things that spiritual hoarders hang on to that make them feel safe spiritually.  First, spiritual hoarders are attached to unhealthy people in their lives that they associated with before they became a Christian. They can’t let go of these damaged individuals. This happens to those bound by alcohol and drugs. The individual comes to the Lord and gets delivered from their addictions, but they still hang around the addicts they once knew. They hoard these people, sometimes even in their own living situation. To break the bondage of spiritual hoarding, cut the soul ties with every person with whom you’ve had previous demonic attachments. Delete all their text messages, emails, and photos. If you have a toxic ex-friend or ex-lover, stop spiritually hoarding them and anything that represents them.

Second, stop hoarding demonic items in your surroundings. Get rid of all the things of your former life that represent witchcraft. Throw out those crystals you believed had spiritual energy. Get rid of every book that exalts non-Christian beliefs, unless needed for official research. Trash the dream catchers, sage, amulets, yoga mats, bongs, and Buddhas. Don’t hoard anything that could keep an open door to the devil

Finally, you can hoard old emotions and evil desires in your mind. Get rid of anything that was tied to a pornography addiction and triggers lustful thoughts. Kick out memories of old relationships that were spiritually poisonous. Don’t keep hoarding all the feelings of worldly pleasures from excessive gaming, gambling, social media cravings, the thrill of clubbing, and sexual fantasies of the old life before Christ. I could keep going, and for some you what you’ve hoarded could be a long list. Just remember that what you are hanging on to could be damaging to your present spiritual condition. James 1:21 admonishes, “Lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness.” That’s a good description of spiritual hoarding. If you are overwhelmed by things which you’ve hoarded from the old life before Christ, then do as Hebrews 12:1 says, “Lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” You can’t take it with you when you’re gone, so clean your spiritual house now and repent of your spiritual hoarding.

The Devil is In the Details of Demon Possession

The devil is in the details. You’ve heard the old saying. It’s not in the Bible. It was a proverb attributed in the 20th Century by Ludwig Mies vander Rohe, a German/American Architect. It meant that something which seems simple may not be. The phrase is actually derived earlier in the 1800s in Germany and was originally stated as, “The good God is in the details,” “Der liebe Gott steckt im Detail.” It refers to anything which has hair-splitting attention to precision and complexity. I apply it to demonic possession.

First Kings 6:38 speaks of the building of Solomon’s temple and says, “The house was finished in all its detail and according to its plans.” Today, the body of a Christian is to be the dwelling place of God, a sacred temple set apart. First Corinthians 6:19 says so: “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.” The passage in First Kings I just mentioned describes the minute attention paid to precision in building Solomon’s Temple. In like manner, our lives are a detailed spiritual architecture of either good or evil.

As an exorcist, I know that, generally speaking, casting out evil spirits isn’t the simple, shout-it-out process some portray it to be. There are many details in exorcism such as:

  • Investigating generational evils, starting with what the victim of the devil knows about the serious sins of family members.
  • Evaluating the effects that various traumas have had on the demon’s host to determine what doors were opened by such things as sexual abuse.
  • Listing all the witchcraft practices of divination, New Age, spiritualism, the occult, and experimentation with pagan religions.
  • Identifying the emotional strongholds of an individual, often caused by a dysfunctional family, such as rejection, abandonment, word curses, and spiritual neglect.

During a successful exorcism we are constantly looking for legal rights that demons use to possess the person. That can sometimes take a while, many minutes, even hours and days to uncover all the ways Satan gained entry. Sometimes the most important issue concerning spiritual bondage isn’t what seems obvious, but what the Bible calls ensnaring sins as it says in Hebrews 12:1: “Lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (NKJV). If you want deliverance from Satan’s grasp, by all means make note of the big sins in your life that you need to confess and turn away from. But be on guard. The Song of Solomon (2:15) warns that sometimes, “The little foxes spoil the vines.” What’s really holding you in Satan’s grasp may not be the more obvious bondages in your life. Remember, the devil sometimes really is in the details.

Beware Deliverance Ministers Doing the Devil’s Work!

I have a serious warning for those seeking freedom from demonic attacks. Beware deliverance ministers doing the devil’s work. Let me be clear about what I AM NOT disparaging—those doing deliverance who are unwise or inexperienced. I may cringe at some of their tactics and things that they say, but they aren’t working for the devil. Lack of wisdom, experience, or training is not the same as deliberately deceiving innocent people. Second Corinthians 4:2 addresses THIS spiritual error with these words:  Not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God (KJV). The Amplified Version states it this way: Not walking in trickery or adulterating the word of God.

This matter came to my attention recently when a virtual encounter client who was a new Christian described his unfortunate contact with a “deliverance ministry” that he found online. A seasoned follower of Christ might have caught the inconsistences on this ministry’s web site, but a tormented new Christian could easily be tricked. The site was called Christ’s Favor Ministry. It offered relief from “paranormal terror” and listed symptoms consistent with demonic possession. But the word demon is never used, just references to “darkness.” Though the terms “deliverance” and “exorcism” are referred to, there is no mention of casting out demons. Help is offered to anyone of any “belief, color, creed, lifestyle, and religion.” No need of a Christian confession to get delivered. Once a person is “free” and on the “other side of the door” they will experience “Christ-like evolution and the Unity of One.” All “negative energy/dark forces” will be banished. All New Age gobbledygook.

But there are other deceptions you need to be aware of. I speak of those who fly the banner of “deliverance” but commit one of several errors:

#1—They don’t have a clue about what they are doing. They are riding the current wave of interest in the demonic supernatural and the so-called “paranormal.” These individuals have a very confused theology about what demons are, usually referring to them as disembodied entities not having passed over to the “other side.” They try to convince these beings to move on and thus relieve the oppression of those to whom they are attached. That’s the error of the web site I’ve just described.

#2—They lack spiritual depth and adopt tactics which have the opposite effect of setting people free. An example would be someone who incorporates astrology or numerology into their methodology. Yes, there are proclaimed Christians who do this and even consult “star signs” to tell people what demons are attacking them. They mix practices of divination with Christian thinking and declare they are being “prophetic.”

#3—They came out of witchcraft and experienced an encounter of some kind with Christ, but their epistemology is distorted. Some such individuals still have demons themselves and end up putting more demons on the people they minister to. This can be true with some self-declared “prophets” and “apostles” who may mean well but transfer some of their own demons by the laying on of hands. I’ve dealt with many cases of this.

#4—They know what they are doing and are deliberately deceptive. They use Christian terminology and concepts to put curses on uninformed Christians. They have studied deliverance ministries and know all the buzzwords. They mix New Age ideas like energy manipulation and meditation to induce states of apparent calmness. Unfortunately, the momentary relief of the seeking individual is followed later by even greater spiritual torment.

As the deliverance movement continues to gain attention and traction, deceptions will also proliferate. So, before someone takes you through deliverance, require these basic things:

  1. A detailed statement of faith.
  2. A list of books they’ve written disseminated by a reputable publisher.
  3. Published position papers supporting the biblical basis for their methodology.
  4. A list of spiritual leaders to whom are they accountable theologically.
  5. Information regarding their educational background, theological training, and spiritual affiliations.

Beware deliverance ministers who do the devil’s work. In your quest to get rid of your demons, you might get even more evil spirits.

What Harry & Meghan Believe!

For days the world has been transfixed on Prince Harry’s new book “Spare.” (The title refers to his whiny role as a supposed back-up heir to the throne of England, secondary to his older brother William.) It’s the number one selling book worldwide. I haven’t bought a copy, and I hope you haven’t either. If like me you’re sick of their self-serving, blathering egotism, there is something you may have missed.

In the book Harry reveals how he lost his virginity and the time his genitals were frostbitten.  From press reports, it’s clear that the details are disgusting and pornographic. Do we really care about these salacious revelations or their constant preening before the press? But there is something more to all this than the hype and money. Here’s what is spiritually important about Harry and Meghan being the occult vanguard of the New Religion of the Left.

Meghan’s mother is a yoga instructor of Vinyasa yoga, a demonically dangerous form of this Hindu practice. She is passionate about this demonic practice and teaches it with fervor.  Meghan also does these same yoga routines daily. In addition, Harry and Meghan constantly spout New Age ideas. They are the Gen X Oprah prototypes. They have tinsel-town spiritualism down pat and are the darlings of the irreligious media.

In the book “Spare” Harry asks of his self-inflicted [my opinion] trials and tribulations, “What was the universe trying to say to me?” Who is the universe, Harry? What religious ambiguity is he talking about? He certainly isn’t referring to a transcendent, Holy Creator-God who gave His Son to die on a cross. Believing in “the universe” is a form of witchcraft. Sorcery worth of another grown-up Harry — Harry Potter. Harry needs to get off his Hollywood high horse, repent, and get serious therapeutic and spiritual help for his demonic, self-indulgence. The same for Meghan who has led him down this road of paganism. Both are the spiritually blind leading the willingly ignorant to demonic destruction. Don’t be deceived. If you follow their ideas and miss the opportunity for eternal life through Christ, there won’t be a “spare” opportunity to try life over again.

Do This and You’ll Never Get a Demon

It sounds too good to be true—do this and you’ll never get a demon! Is there really something you can do to avoid an evil spirit entering you? There are three basic classes of people reacting to this statement.

#1—Atheists, unbelievers, and skeptics who don’t believe that things such as demons even exist. They’re not worried about getting a demon since, in their worldview, demons are boogey-men invented by Christians to scare people into the church.

#2—Christians, mainly hyper-Calvinists, Reformed theologians, and Fundamentalist for whom talk of demons is irrelevant since they think that no true Christian can ever be invaded by a demon.

#3—Those who believe in demons and deliverance and want to do everything possible to avoid being attacked, oppressed, or even invaded by an evil spirit.

It is for this latter group that I direct my message on what to do so that you’ll never get a demon. I’ll list the simple qualifications:

1) Be born into this world with no one in your bloodlines, either mother or father, who has been a wicked individual. No murderers, idolaters, fornicators, witches, thieves, liars, perverts, or abusers among your ancestors.

2) Never indulged in alcohol abuse, recreational drugs of any kind, (that includes weed), and never engaged in sexual promiscuity, or experimented with the occult or New Age.

3) Declare that you have never been a victim of molestation, incest, rape, or any kind of sexual behavior which is unbiblical.

4) Acknowledge that you were raised in a loving, affirming, two-parent home with Christian parents who were never verbally or physically abusive and always morally consistent.

5) Confess that you became a Christian as child and have never strayed significantly into sin and have always been faithful to a biblical lifestyle.

There you have it: five factors that will reduce to almost zero your chances of getting a demon.

Everyone who qualifies for all these standards, raise your hand. Hmmm. I don’t seem to be getting much a response. In fact, I’m not certain that anyone I’m speaking to can meet these standards. Get my point? In a backhanded way I’ve proven that very few people in our world today are demon-free. I’ve listed more than a dozen qualifiers for living without demonic intrusion of some kind, and few can affirm that they fit the necessary personal profile.

I’m not judging or shaming you. My point is that the world in which we live is in a sorry state spiritually. And most people are victims, one way or another, of the pervasive evils of our age. Also, you need to know that having some or all these problems in your life don’t necessarily mean that you automatically have demons. But after decades of experience as an exorcist, I have learned that it takes a lot less than most people realize to get a demon. And when you have clusters of these factors that I’ve listed, it increases your likelihood that you’re afflicted by some level of demonic activity.

That’s why I say, “Everyone needs deliverance.” Everyone needs the spiritual scrutiny of a trusted minister of deliverance who has sufficient experience to tell you what your chances are of having some level of spiritual oppression. This message is a warning to get help sooner rather than later. Schedule an in-person or virtual encounter with me or a trusted associate minister whom I have personally trained. Enroll in Bob Larson University to further assess your understanding of true spiritual warfare.

Scripture constantly warns us against spiritual complacency. I Peter 5:8 declares the devil is constantly seeking those “whom he may devour.” Second Peter 3:17 warns Christians they need to be cautious and “beware lest you fall from your own steadfastness.” Christ warned in Matthew chapter seven that the way to eternal life is by a narrow road and a narrow gate and “there are few that find it.”

There are no perfect Christians, and very few who are free from the inhibiting influences of evil that can open doors to demons. But you can improve on your possibilities of being demon-free. Deal with those five factors I just listed: 1) break generational curses, 2) morally clean house with any evils that hinder you, 3) seek spiritual healing and counseling for the past hurts in your life, 4) forgive your spiritually dysfunctional family and move on to a healthier life then they gave you, and 5) receive mercy and grace for your own failures as a Christian. Eventually you’ll get to the place where all your demons will have to go. Then, in the future you’ll never get another demon.
