Arin’s exorcism the night she was set free!

The unsolicited letter below is reproduced exactly as it was sent to us, without any editing. Arin’s testimony says it all. This is what the Lord can do for those who reach out by faith. Demons are real and deliverance is just as real. Only the power of God through Christ can make such a miracle possible.

Thanks to the many friends and partners who support and pray for this ministry. Your gifts make miracles like this possible.  If you want to see Arin’s complete deliverance CLICK HERE.

AFTER MANY YEARS OF DEMONIC TORMENT, ARIN TESTIFIES . . .

I feel light, free and different.
I’m so thankful for the Lord blessing
me to meet Bob Larson.

An encouraging word:  ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST

How many times have you heard a Christian say with boldness and determination, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It’s a great thought, but I wonder if we don’t sometimes put the emphasis on the “I” rather than “Christ.” “I” can do this or “I” can do that. Such a sentiment can turn into a bit of an ego trip with Jesus along for the ride of what “I” can do. Rethink what Paul said in Philippians 4:13 to put the focus on “Christ” who does His work and will through the vehicle of the “I.” Indeed we may do great things for God but it’s all about Christ in us and His strength.

Exorcism Spanish Style!

Wednesday, February 26th 2014

The article above appeared in the most-read newspaper in Spain, Madrid’s EL MUNDO. Friends who are missionaries in Spain sent me this iPhone photo. I didn’t talk to EL MUNDO so they must have pieced it together from some other publication. I went online to get the full text of the article. If you’ve ever tried google translate it can be an exercise in both frustration and humor. For example, the article says:

CLAIM: His reputation has also been damaged by the discovery that some of the over 100 videos posted on the internet are very edited to exaggerate their powers exorcist

FACT: Of course we edit the exorcisms on our YouTube channel. Viewers aren’t going to sit and watch an hour-long exorcism so we condense each example down to the most important moments for better viewing, not to “exaggerate” my “powers.”

CLAIM: Larson is creating a dynasty.

FACT: Really? So where is our multi-million dollar complex and massive staff of assistants or our radio and TV conglomerates? Yes, my oldest daughter, Brynne, and her two friends have garnered world renown for what they do, but that’s hardly a “dynasty.”

CLAIM: He says, “The aliens have come to conquer Earth.”

FACT: Now that is downright weird. Must have lost something in the translation.

CLAIM: BLM [Bob Larson Ministries] a company that, according to some reports, gives several million dollars in annual profits.

FACT: For the sake of the Gospel I wish, but their “report” is several million dollars off.

CLAIM: Everything is possession from nightmares to have homosexual tendencies. Knowledge to expel the demon do not require much theological depth.

FACT: I have never said that nightmares and homosexual tendencies indicate demonic possession. That is so ridiculous it doesn’t deserve comment. And whoever wrote this hasn’t studied the curriculum of our International School of Exorcism which isn’t lightweight theology.

Unfortunately, Spain today is a very godless country. Only 21% of the population ever goes to church, much lower than 31% in Italy and 46% in Ireland. I expect the Spanish press to make fun of what we do and care less about getting facts straight from a primary source. So, am I upset? Absolutely not. I praise God wherever we have the chance to let people know that Jesus saves and delivers. I let God sort out the facts. What the press means for evil God often uses for good. Sometimes it just makes people more curious. In recent days I have done Skype exorcisms on people in Italy, Scandinavia, India, Ireland, Australia, and many other countries. Scores have been set free because the secular press has told our story, even if they sometimes distort the facts. Remember how Jesus described his critics: For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, “Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.” Luke 7:33-34 NIV) As Jesus also said in Luke 6:26, Woe to you when all men speak well of you.

An encouraging word:  CALL UPON THE LORD

“I will call upon the Lord . . . so shall I be saved from mine enemies” (Psalm 18:3). David’s confidence in being protected was not his armies, his wealth, or his power. It was his God. We all need saved from all kinds of enemies, evil people, tragic circumstances, physical diseases, financial challenges, and outright demonic attacks. Society says the government will save you or your cleverness will rescue you. Perhaps even your deception. But calling upon the Lord is the best way to stay safe from whatever enemies are tormenting your life.

Jail for Yonggi Cho

Tuesday, February 25th 2014

Pastor Cho exhorting the flock in better days.

Yoido Full Gospel Church auditorium.

Three years in prison for embezzling $12 million in church funds. There are several remarkable things about that headline. First the amount of money. Face it, what church has $12 million to steal? Second, the verdict was rendered against the founding pastor of the world’s largest church, the Pentecostal Yoido Full Gospel Church of Seoul, South Korea, with more than one million (that’s right-MILLION) members. Cho, now pastor emeritus, was involved in a stock scheme to benefit his son, according to the court’s decision. He was indicted for having his church buy stock from his son at more than three times the market price. Church elders now accuse Cho of embezzling additional funds, up to $20 million. In addition to the jail sentence, Cho must pay a $4.7 million fine. Imagine a pastor even having the ability to pay that out of pocket change?

I visited Pastor Cho’s church when I was in Seoul four years ago to tape a television special for Korean TV.  They graciously gave me a VIP tour including a behind-the-scenes look at how the media department is run. Impressive is an understatement. One thing that stuck me was the first thing you see when entering the main lobby. Thousands of built-in cubby holes, like small letter boxes. Each had a number. That’s where members would go immediately upon coming to church, to get their tithe envelope and deposit it in their numbered box. First things first. Not a bad idea to get that out of the way before entering to worship. I supposed it was part of Korean culture and an efficient way to collect the offering. Now I wonder: Expedient procedure or smart business?

I don’t know Cho personally and there may well be more to this story than the verdict of a Korean Court. I’m not to judge. But the fallout of yet another mega-leader falling from grace, sadly one 78-years-of-age, could be disheartening. Rather than wring our hands in disgust or disbelief, we’d do well to consider that none is immune from the wiles of Satan – even the pastor of the world’s largest church. Whatever he’s done, few on earth can claim the spiritual successes and thousands of souls won to Christ that are also part of Cho’s legacy. We should not fall into the trap of too harsh a judgment nor too lenient an attitude. Better that we use this as a footnote to Paul’s warning in the classic King James: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (1 Cor. 9:26).

An encouraging word:  HE IS WORTHY

In Psalm 18:3 David declares that the Lord is “worthy to be praised.” Is He worthy because he is God? Yes, but He’s also worthy because he’s proven his worthiness. He has done for His people what He promised. If you do not find Him worthy your prayers won’t be answered, your needs will not be met. You will not trust His promises and obey His instructions. Its human nature to ignore the unworthy and disregard those we consider insignificant. But the Lord is not an underachiever we can easily dismiss. He created the heavens and earth and sent His Son to die on a cross. Indeed, He is worthy.

The Church of England Surrenders to Satan!

Friday, February 21st 2014

It’s official. The Church of England (Anglican), the official church of the British Commonwealth, is about to surrender to Satan. A new trial baptism is being tested in which parents and godparents need no longer “repent of sins” and “reject the devil.” The trial program has been piloted in 400 parishes on the premise that avoiding such language would make parents seem more comfortable and “culturally appropriate” when presenting their child for the ancient sacrament. Anglican baptisms are officially recognized by the Catholic Church, though there is no word yet on what the Vatican thinks about this politically correct baptism. Traditionally the presiding vicar was supposed to ask the parents or godparents, “Do you reject the devil and all rebellion against god?” and “Do you repent of the sins that separate us from God?” An affirmative response was expected before the baby would be baptized. Now, they will only be asked to “reject evil,” a formula sure to make Hell happy. One opposing Bishop has called it “baptism lite.” Another critic says, “It further reduces the fullness of the Church’s faith to easily swallowed sound bites.” Amen!

Reverend Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, vicar of Durham, argues in favor of the change by saying that it allows those of “low literacy” to more easily understand the baptism. Say that again? What’s hard to fathom about repenting of sin? What’s so difficult to comprehend about rejecting the devil? To take it one step further, infant baptism was originally instituted in the early church as an exorcism to free the newborn from inherited evil. This historical fact is documented profusely in the Apprentice Level of our International School of Exorcism. Students of the school learn that the early church fathers also saw baptism as a way to break the power of generational curses. What then is infant baptism for, if not to provide a way for parents to break any power Satan has over their child? It seems that instead of driving Satan away from the innocent child, some Anglicans are giving an open door to the devil.

An encouraging word:  HOPE OF HEAVEN

Most Christians think that idea of meeting God face-to-face is a New Testament idea (“willing to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” – 2 Cor. 5:8). But David said in the last verse of Psalm 17, “I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness” (verse 15). The Psalmist anxiously awaited the satisfaction of living eternally in God’s presence. Before Calvary David may not have totally understood all that heaven meant, such as the promise of “many mansions,” personally prepared by the Lord himself. But spiritually he grasped the hope of heaven. Do you? What good is being a Christian without the anticipation of being satisfied with nothing more than to awake to eternal life in Christ?

Danger Zone Evangelism!

Thursday, February 20th 2014
Scenes below are from Kiev where our Ukraine Mission begins in just a few weeks!

Undoubtedly, you’ve watched the steady slide of Ukraine into civil war and the horrible fighting taking place there this week. It’s the #1 news story of the day – dozens dead and hundreds (likely thousands) seriously injured. You may have wondered why I’ve made six mission trips there in the last four years, and plan to go again in less than two months. Also, keep in mind, our city of disembarkation is Kiev, where the worst fighting is taking place. Here’s the logic: Ukraine is . . .

  • The largest country in Eastern Europe – 50 million people.
  • The agricultural bread basket of Europe and Russia.
  • The largest economy between Germany and Russia.
  • The post-Cold War battleground between Communism and democracy.
  • The most extensively Christianized country in that part of the world.
  • We are aligned with 500 churches that love our ministry.
  • The Bible College where we teach is the largest outside the Americas.
  • The greatest revival I’ve witnessed in my lifetime is taking place there.
  • If the current conflict goes bad, we may not be able to go there again for some time.

MOST IMPORTANT: Unlike America, deliverance, exorcism, and healing is embraced not shunned! People long to be saved. They want to get free. They seek God fervently. They are on fire for the Lord in a way that shames America.

Is it risky? Yes. Pray that full-blown civil war doesn’t break out making it impossible to travel there. So long as the door is open, and our friends and partners back us with prayers and offerings, our plans aren’t changing. I and our team WILL LAND IN KIEV! Now that you clearly understand why we’re going to Ukraine, show your support today by a call or email of encouragement and a generous gift. Please pray for the amazing Christians of Ukraine who are caught in this crossfire that may determine the political future of Eastern Europe.

An encouraging word:  GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS

I deal constantly with generational sin issues that are destroying lives due to ancestral evil. How I long to see generational blessings as prevalent, or even more so, than generational iniquity. Imagine how our culture and our country would be so different if our children were raised with parents who had an absence of drug addiction, alcoholism, and sexual abuse. What if the youth of today were inheriting the blessing of consistent faith in God and respect for authority nurtured by a loving father and mother? John Lennon “imagined” a world without religion, and we’re close to his godless goal with disastrous results. Blessings or curses, that’s the choice that was before Israel in Deuteronomy chapter 28, and it’s the same issue we face today.

Satanic Craigslist Killings

Tuesday, February 18th 2014

Miranda Barbour leaving the courthouse.

Elytte Barbour, also charged with murder..

The story has been all over the news the past couple of days. Miranda Dean Barbour, 19, says that she and her new husband, Elytte Barbour, went on a satanic killing spree from Alaska to Texas and on to North Carolina. They were finally caught in Pennsylvania where the two used Craigslist to lure an electrical engineer to his death by stabbing. Barbour claims that this victim was one of many others — all murdered for the devil. “When I hit 22 [victims], I stopped counting,” she said in a jailhouse interview. Most were in Alaska where she claims to have joined a satanic sect at age 13. Miranda also told reporters she doesn’t want out of jail, fearing she would kill again if released. She has even offered to show police where the bodies are. More facts will undoubtedly come to light as police investigators check further into the story.

Several issues come to my mind. Could this be possible? Of course. I have encountered many such cases in several decades of ministry. Some of the accounts told to me were admittedly shrouded in murky memories of cult torture and drug manipulation, but the idea of killing to please the devil is a consistent theme. Some satanic cults require truly committed members to break all the 10 commandments, murder being one of them. This story seems phenomenal and efforts will be made to discount it. Three decades ago I ministered to serial killer Henry Lee Lucas who, at the time, was said to be the most prolific murderer in American history. I testified at his trial, after Lucas asked me to meet with him in his jail cell for prayer and full confession of his crimes. He described to me in detail how the cult he belonged to operated and the way that he dispatched his victims. The media was vested in disproving his story and made considerable effort to discredit him, especially when his ego got carried away and he inflated his kill count on death row. But what he told me alone, behind bars, is much like Miranda Barbour’s story. Time will hopefully separate fact from fiction, but whether it was one, 22, or more, there is at least one Craigslist corpse to prove that a deadly deed was indeed done for the devil.

An encouraging word:  HEAR MY PRAYER

“Hear my prayer!” David’s cry in Psalm 17:6 is echoed throughout Scripture. “Hear my prayer” (Psalm 102:1); “Hear my voice” (Psalm 119:149); “Hear my voice” (Psalm 130:2; 141:1); “Hear my prayer” (Psalm 143:1). Very consistent. Do you ever pray like this, crying out for the Lord to really listen to what you say? God wants to hear your fervency, your insistency, your desperation when you cry out to Him. Unfortunately, a lot of prayers are droll, lifeless, and almost cavalier. I encourage you. The next time you come before the Lord, let Him know you are serious. Start out boldly and forcefully by saying, “Hear me!” That may the time you finally get an answer.

Dying to Drink

Friday, February 14th 2014

Article in yesterday’s USA-TODAY newspaper.

Drug rehab center near Novomoskovsk, Ukraine.

One of the reasons that I have such a spiritual burden to go to Eastern Europe, Ukraine, and Russia is because of the demonic bondage that exists in that part of the world. The Russians, and by extension the Ukrainians (who speak Russian and were under Soviet domination for decades), have a massive alcohol-addiction problem. Almost every one of the 500+ churches in that part of that world were we have established deliverance teams, also have a drug rehab center. Most of the Russian language YouTube exorcisms featured on our channel involve people who were drug or alcohol addicted, as well as being demon-possessed. The photo above was taken well after midnight. I and the Teenage Exorcists (pictured with me) were returning from a late night ministry meeting. Our bus driver begged us to please stop by the local church rehab center and say hello to the recovering addicts. They had been waiting up all night to see us. What a beautiful bunch of young people, some in their early teens. (The director of the Center, a former addict himself named Eugene, a wonderful man of God, stands between Tess and Savannah Scherkenback, two of the Teenage Exorcists. My daughter Brynne is just over my left shoulder.)

According to a recent study published by the science journal The Lancet, 25% of Russian men die before age 55 due to excessive alcohol and tobacco consumption. The average Russian consumes more than 14 quarts of pure alcohol a year. The youth pictured above would have had a life expectancy barely beyond 50, if they made it that long because of street-drug complications. But Jesus has changed all that.  Every one of them has been through deliverance and rehabilitation. Their future is bright and they have hopes for marriage and families with children who will be brought up drug and alcohol free! This is just one more way your support of the ministry is making a difference. The contrast between the newspaper headline from USA-TODAY and the photo next to it is possible because of the Gospel. Thank you for helping us to bring the hope of Jesus to those bound by demons and addiction.

An encouraging word:  JESUS MAKES A DIFFERENCE

There are so many ways that Jesus makes a difference, especially in practical terms. Even leaving eternal life out of the equation, it’s worth it to follow Christ. Faith in Jesus can bring freedom from demonic bondage, addictions, emotional dysfunction, debilitating diseases, troubled relationships, financial failure, mental torment; the list is almost endless. All these benefits aren’t automatic. The follower of Christ must walk by faith, study God’s Word, appropriate His promises, claim His liberation, declare His victory. But a faithful walk with God can bring forth a life of true fulfillment and happiness. Jesus DOES make all the difference in the world.

Purple Haze Paradox

Thursday, March 13th 2014

Jim Hendrix government-issued stamp.

It borders on a religion. Pass through the Seattle-Tacoma airport, as I did last week, and you’ll see a huge wall mural dedicated to it – at taxpayer’s expense. Now, the federal government is taking federal tax dollars to make a Forever stamp featuring its god. I speak of the cult of Jimi Hendrix, 60s guitar player extraordinaire. Sure, I acknowledge what a great guitar player he was, especially for that era. I was at a Miami concert at the peak of his career when he first set his guitar on fire, although I wasn’t quite sure what the pyrotechnics had to do with musical artistry. Forty years later I wonder if, in a morally disintegrating culture in need of noble icons, it is wise to lionize a man who (musical skills aside) promoted the use of drugs, including hallucinogens. The design above also features a psychic third-eye which is supposed to symbolize Hendrix’s spiritual side. Spiritual? Let’s be honest, he died ignominiously in a purple haze (insiders will get the quip), suffocated in his own vomit due to an alcohol/drug overdose at age 27. (On tour he constantly smoked hash while using heroin, LSD and amphetamines.)

He was talented, but I speculate it was more than drugs that did him in. Generational curses abounded in his family. His paternal great-great-grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee, a proud and noble nation until the genocidal “trail of tears.” Some Cherokee turned to witchcraft to get revenge on the white man, and hence some of the most powerful Native American demonic curses are of Cherokee origin. Hendrix’s paternal grandfather was conceived illegitimately from an affair of a black slave woman and a white slave master. Hendrix didn’t have any say about his ancestry, but he could have controlled his consumption of illegal substances. Those who know him say that Hendrix’s haze drove him to become violent, once hitting a girlfriend with a vodka bottle which required her to have stitches. And now he posthumously has a stamp. And you, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer, footed the bill. Who we as a nation chose to be our heroes says a lot about who we have become.

An encouraging word:  IN THE DARKNESS

“He made darkness his covering” (Psalm 18:11). Now that’s a strange statement. Perhaps it means that what God does, He does in secret in ways we cannot understand. God works in mysterious ways where the light of day doesn’t always shine. And when darkness surrounds us, it doesn’t mean that God has abandoned us, as we sometimes think. It just means that His purposes are hidden. We want to look for the Lord in the brightness of the sun where everything is glowing; but sometimes we need to be patient, even in the darkness. It is there that He may doing his greatest work in our lives.

Let’s Not Legalize Kid Killing

Thursday, February 12th 2014

If the Belgium parliament has its way, hospital beds like
this intended for children may be vacant!

The practice of euthanasia, already legal on a national level in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, is about to take a huge step further with the legal self-murder of minors in Belgium. The Belgian parliament legalized euthanasia in 2002 but is now poised to extend the practice to children. The killing would be permissible if the young patient is conscious of their decision and understands the meaning of the action.  In addition, the parents must approve and the illness must be terminal. The Belgian senate has already voted 50-17 in favor. Understandably, opponents argue that minors simply aren’t capable of such a grave decision. In the Netherlands, euthanasia for children is already legal over the age of 12, but the Belgians are not to be outdone. The new law, if passed, will allow the taking of one’s life at any age. One prominent Brussels pediatrician says, “We are talking about children that are really at the end of their life. Their life will end anyway. The question they ask us is: ‘Let me go while I still have my dignity.'”

If that last quote takes your breath away with its demonic logic, consider this. This doctor is expressing, according to the polls, the opinion of 75% of Belgians. It might also be noted that only 7% of Belgians attend church, and according to a 2011 poll 31% of the population is non-religious. The inhumanity of considering such a law may be simply a reflection of the lack of a spiritual scruples. Perhaps the seed of this insensitive attitude toward life was sown following the reformation when Protestants were burned at the stake. In fact it wasn’t until 1781 that anything other than Catholicism was tolerated on penalty of death. Religion in Belgium was for so long a tool of repression, not spiritual expression. The evil that attitude induced has likely brought a generational curse that disregards all faiths and has little sensitivity toward the dignity of all humans of any age.

An encouraging word:  SURROUNDED BY EVIL

David expressed the way I feel sometimes about those who don’t like me or my ministry. “They have tracked me down, they now surround me with eyes alert to throw me to the ground. They are like a lion hungry for prey . . . ” (Psalm 17:11-12) Doubtless you’ve felt that way a few times yourself – surrounded by enemies who snarl like breast of prey. But in verse 13 Dave calls on God to be his defense: “Rise up oh Lord, confront them . . . rescue me.” If your life seems encircled by evil, your hope of escape is in Christ. You must trust in Him to be the one to rise up and rescue you..

Should a Christian Tattoo You?

Tuesday, February 11th 2014

1981 Rolling Stones’ studio album

I’ve never met the man, and I’m sure he’s a great guy who loves the Lord. I usually don’t mention names when I comment on the views of other Christians, but this guy is all over the Internet and speaks on Christian college campuses. His web site has no doctrinal statement so his theology isn’t public. (His web site only informs us that he loves frosted flakes and has a dog named Aslan — apparently some kind of Millennial, Gen Y credential.) I happened on a video he’s widely posted condoning Christians having tattoos. Jeff Bethke says he’s been inked, intentionally, “on purpose,” and not on a whim. He claims he did so as a result of “pursuing truth” and has no problem with Christians who tattoo. His argument centers on the very scripture that prohibits it, Leviticus 19:28: You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves; I am the Lord. Bethke’s argument is essentially that this verse can’t be taken out of context with regards to other verses in this same chapter. He claims that those who don’t approve of tattoos should also be consistent and not eat meat (v. 26). Any serious Bible student knows that there is a difference in the Old Testament between social/ceremonial law (v. 10 regarding leaving food for strangers) and moral/spiritual law. Injunctions pertaining to hygiene, agriculture, and nutrition are not in the same immutable category as spiritual law (v. 4 regarding idols). To make matters worse, Bethke quotes Revelation 19:16 (“on his thigh a name”) to claim that Jesus has a tattoo! (Lousy exegesis-the “thigh” in this case could have referred to military clothing or even a sword suspended from his thigh).

My purpose is not to personally attack Mr. Bethke, whom I’m sure is very sincere, but to make this point. DELIVERANCE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. (If you really want a lengthy, incisive analysis of tattoos read my book on CURSE BREAKING. To order CLICK HERE.) Doing deliverance opens one’s eyes to the empirical realities of how demonic forces operate. All I know about Bethke is what’s on his web site; I would like to meet him and discuss this matter further. I do know this — he doesn’t cast out demons! Doing real spiritual warfare teaches quickly how contemporary evil spirits operate.  I’ve lost track of the numbers of demons that use tattoos as a portal for possession. “This scripture was meant for a time and a place,” Bethke argues disingenuously, “It’s a wisdom issue, not a sin issue.”  My advice for any considering a tattoo: use some real wisdom before you ink that tramp stamp or butterfly on your breast.

An encouraging word:  RESPECT OLD BOUNDARIES

There is some good advice in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 19:14): Do not move your neighbor’s boundary stone set up by your predecessors in the inheritance you receive in the land the LORD  your God is giving you to possess. I have some advice for youth, based on age and experience: Be careful what you disregard from previous generations. In this high-tech time there is a bit of cultural arrogance about dismissing the past as irrelevant. It has seeped into the church and extends to worship styles, behavioral standards, and theology. Don’t too casually dismiss the old boundaries. They may have been there for a good reason you can’t yet comprehend.
