s most of our friends know, I have been recuperating from knee-replacement surgery. Forgive me for mentioning the important facts again, but some aren’t familiar with our ministry. This was a very serious operation, especially for the possibility of life-threatening blood clots. Three years ago the opposite knee was operated on, and I did suffer clots. I came within minutes of dying. Naturally, this time around my family has been a bit on edge. My progress, 14-days post-op as of this blog, has been excruciating with lots of complications. I don’t handle medications well, so I can’t take the normal dosages of pain killers to assuage the agony. I mention this because my state of misery set the stage for God speaking to me.

While in a lot of pain, I received a phone call. It was our oldest daughter Brynne on the line. “Dad, my book is in Barnes and Nobel!” she said excitedly. Suddenly, my suffering became a non-issue. A smile crossed my face, and I replied, “That’s great, sweetie. Your mom and I are so proud of you.”

Brynne’s book, The Dark Side of the Supernatural, came out last summer. Since then she’s been so busy with her transition to a new University (junior in pre-med) that she never took time to see how secular sales of her book were doing. While Christmas shopping she looked to see if her book was in stock. There it was, on the shelves of one of the largest secular booksellers in America. That’s an extra-ordinary achievement for a 21-year-old woman: a book exposing the works of Satan and warning about evils from vampires to Harry Potter, on the shelves of a bigtime secular outlet.

In one call, God changed my perspective on what really matters. I looked away from my suffering for a season. In our daughter, and the lives of thousands of students of our International School of Exorcism®, as well as many hundreds of dedicated Do What Jesus Did® deliverance teams up all over the world, there is a legacy that will last. A mission that really matters. (Our other two daughters are doing great things too, but more on that some other time.)

This ministry isn’t about cool communication, prophetic hype, and short-term spirituality. This is a much-maligned ministry that is short on accolades and long on Christian critics. Standing by me are hundreds of incredible men and women across this land and around the world who minister in the trenches week after week, without fanfare and often little regard. They heal souls in Nashville; fight demons in Atlanta; comfort the wounded Portland; rescue the lost in Lakeland; crush the devil in Dallas; mash the enemy in Miami, and deliver hundreds every week in scores of other cities.

After my daughter’s call, my body didn’t hurt any less, but the pain didn’t matter as much. I refocused on my blessings and the privilege to “do what Jesus did.” I’ll be back on two good feet soon and ready more than ever to defeat the devil in the Name of Jesus!

An encouraging word: A CHILD IS BORN

“Unto us a child is born.” Those words of Isaiah 9:6 are spoken hundreds of thousands of times a day. But more than 2,700 year ago they were uttered regarding a particular child, without knowing exactly who this baby should be. He certainly would be no ordinary child. Isaiah declared that he would be “the Prince of Peace.” The prophet’s listeners must have been astonished, or perhaps thought he was exaggerating. Now, we know of whom the ancient one spoke. That babe is to millions worshipped as the “Wonderful, Counsellor,” “the Mighty God.” What an amazing moment in time when Isaiah spoke, only overshadowed by that moment when He was born and lay in a manger.

There are many tattoos which obviously seem to be demonic. Like the one on a man’s arm, left above. But what about the one on the right? Would you have picked that one as being satanic? Of course, the hideous, snarling devil face is an apparent pick. But what’s so devilish about the one on the right, which is extremely popular in tattoo parlors?

It is one of the most sacred symbols of the idolatrous religion of Hinduism. It’s a symbol often adorning yoga rooms. Actually it is more than a symbol, it is believed to embody the prime deities of Hinduism, such a Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva (the god of destruction). It represents the soul, ultimate truth (not Christ!), and the supreme spirit of the universe (read that demon). It is an incantation used in Hindu prayers and guides many occult mediations. It is OM or AUM, the word/sound uttered as a devotional evocation to connect with the primordial vibration/energy of the universe. In other words, in Christianese, it is a conjuration of any and all demons of the pagan, Hindu cosmos – all 330 million gods claimed by the faith. If just one of them responds, the results can be devastating.

And yet many Christians have been told by so-called Christian yoga instructors that it’s OK to utter OM, that it is just a vibratory sound that will help them to still the mind and relax. It’s bad enough to say it, but to display it on an arm, one’s chest or back, or an indelicate spot, is an open door to demons.  (Read about the dangers of tattoos in my book CURSE BREAKING. To order CLICK HERE.) If you are a fan of tattoos you might want to check further about the meaning of less obvious inking before you go under the needle. Your tattoo could be a connection to a generational curse that has been looking for an open door to attack you.

An encouraging word: ABSTAIN FROM FLESHLY LUSTS

“Abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.” That warning of 1 Peter 2:11 is definitely needed in our age of carnal appetites being satiated in countless ways. Peter likens this to a war, a battle for control of the human conscience. Lust deadens moral senses, defiles the mind’s imagination, hardens the heart against God, and desensitizes all the sensibilities of the soul. It is nothing less than an eternal battle with an outcome of heaven or hell. From such things the Christian is to voluntarily, by an act of the will, back away and flee. Today, Satan is after your soul. Abstain from anything and everything that wages a battle for your heart and mind.

They are the faces of American terrorism: Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik. By now the whole country knows of their attack on a civil servant holiday party in San Bernardino, California, killing 14 and injuring 21. It is the deadliest strike by Islamic extremists on American soil since Sept. 11, 2001. Wasn’t it just a few days ago that President Obama was telling us not to worry, that terrorism wouldn’t strike America? That ISIL/ISIS was no serious threat to Americans? I’d say that the confirmed Facebook posts of Malik, pledging allegiance to Islamic State, is about as clear as the killers could be about their terrorist intentions.

Is anyone else sick of the constant drumbeat of calls for gun control every time an act like this takes place? Investigations have revealed that the murderous couple had enough bombs, guns, and bullets to start a small war. They would have gotten those munitions no matter what laws were on the books. They were cold-blooded, ruthless, and full of demons. How else can one explain a mother who would leave her six-month-old baby girl with the grandmother and then callously murder other mothers of children?

Ironically not many miles from San Bernardino, just days after the massacre, I was ministering deliverance to a woman possessed with a demon of Murder. The evil spirit had been passed down from a Muslim ancestor named Mohammed who killed Christians and Jews. As my readers know, no one encounters more demons face-to-face than I do. When I tell you that this demon was one of the nastiest I’ve ever faced, that is saying something. Am I concluding that all Muslim are demon-possessed, potential killers? Of course not. Hundreds of millions of Muslims are kind, peaceful people. What it does indicate is that within radical Islam, as in ISIL/ISIS, there is a demonic power intent on bloodlust, using religion as an excuse. This a war that will not be won just by dropping more bombs but by confronting and casting out all demonic spirits of hate, violence, and murder. An encouraging word: COUNT IT ALL JOY

“Count it as joy when you fall into various trials.” Those words of James 1:2 are some of the hardest to live by. Admit it, you struggle the same as I do with rejoicing when things aren’t going well; when sickness or financial challenges come; when friends betray; when disappointments overwhelm. But these are the times when we most need to “count it as joy.” Anyone can be grateful in good times, but it is the measure of a seasoned Christian who holds their head high when all around seem to be losing theirs. Whatever you may face today, count is as joy, rejoice even though you may be hurting, and trust in Him who is able to quickly turn things around, if you have the right attitude.

A week ago, on my way home, passing through San Francisco Airport (SFO), I was exhausted with a little time on my hands. Thinking I might find a quiet chapel, which almost all airports used to have, I was instead confronted by signs directing me instead to a yoga room. I peeked inside, and sure enough, there, in pretzeled positions, were travelers in various stages of yogic enlightenment. Most folks, especially liberal, New Aged Californians, wouldn’t think much about this. To me, it was more than an acquiescence to multiculturalism; it was a vivid sign of the times. When people today want peace, rest, and tranquility, they don’t pray to a transcendent deity. They evoke the yogic god within, align their chakras, and awaken the Kundalini power at the base of the spine. And they get demons.

Spare me. I’ve heard all the idiot arguments of so-called Holy Yoga, Yoga for the Soul, and Praise Moves, and Yahweh Yoga (all claiming incongruously to be “Christian”). It’s hard for me to charitable and gracious to these deceptions which are the result of abject, willing ignorance. Those who really want the truth can read the book. No need to repeat all its contentions here; but it’s obvious I’m not talking off the top of my head through some religiously, legalistic mindset.

Briefly consider these few points I extract from the book:

• One of the supreme texts of yoga declares, “The aim of all yoga is realization of the Absolute Brahman” [Hindu demon-god]. The aim is to unite with a demon, one that I’ve cast out many times from advocates of yoga.
• Famed Hindu mystic Swami Vishnudevananda, who helped to bring yoga to the west, wrote, “The aim of all yoga practice is to achieve truth wherein the individual soul identifies itself with the supreme soul of god.” But what god???
• My book states: “The postures are designed to condition the mind to experience altered states of consciousness. Each pose is presumed to be tuning the body, glands, and psychic nervous system to a level of spiritual susceptibility and altered awareness.”

There isn’t enough space here to address the fallacy that Yoga (which in Hindi means “union or yoked with god”) can be casually dissociated from its pagan origins simply because some willingly deceived Christian yoga instructor redefines its intent. Almost every week, I pick up the spiritual collateral damage of those who got sucked in to this lie of “Christian” yoga and became demonized. I know of no legitimate exorcist or deliverance minister who approves of such nonsense. Get my book. Read all I have to say. An encouraging word: IN HIS HOLY PRESENCE

Psalm 24:3 asks an important question: “Who may stand in His holy place?” In other words, who may have the right to enter into God’s presence, for now and for eternity? The answer comes quickly in the next verse: “He who has clean hands and a pure heart.” That verse has other qualifications, but just consider the “clean hands” and “pure heart” part. In many churches today, serving God is made to seem so easy with little real commitment. But abiding with Christ is more than a warm feeling from a couple of worship songs. It involves real sacrifice, holy living, and a transparent conscience. Ask yourself today if you are really ready to stand in His holy place.!

A news report surfaced last week regarding a New Jersey couple who lost their parental rights because they took their two children for an exorcism. The children, ages seven and six now, were submitted to the ritual, performed by a Catholic priest, when they were three and two. According to the report, the mother said that she was hearing voices that told her to give her children to the devil. Instead, she brought them to church and subsequently lost them to the State. Now, to be fair, there’s apparently more to this story. The father of the children was serving a prison sentence for aggravated assault and robbery at the time of the exorcism. After the exorcism, the mother had four psychiatric hospitalizations and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

And there’s more to the story. After the attempted exorcism, the mother was jailed for receiving stolen property and cocaine use. Dad continued to be incarcerated for long periods, partly brought on by long term cocaine addiction. Obviously, these were bad parents and the State may have done the right thing by removing the children to foster care. But what’s disturbing is that New Jersey only took action when an exorcism happened. It was undoubtedly viewed as just one more example of the mother’s craziness. That’s what bothers me. Yes, they were unfit parents and intervention was necessary, but to treat the mother’s seeking an exorcism as just more evidence of her “hallucinations” may have been off the mark.

From my perspective it’s probable that both of the parents were demonized, and sadly, also the children because these incompetent addicts had de facto turned the youngster over to the devil. What the State should have done, rather than penalizing the parents for an exorcism, was to demand deliverance for both parents and children. But in our anti-religious age, that’s not going to happen. And so, the likely scenario is that these two children will grow up, having received demons from mom and dad, and in turn act out their own evil behavior. And so on. Until we as a culture are willing to admit that Satan is alive and well and working through drugs, mental illness, and all kinds of evil actions, more of the innocent will suffer. You and I are called to change that dire predicament. An encouraging word: GOD REMAINS THE SAME

 Psalm 24 speaks of those who will abide in the presence of God and go to heaven. David declares that a “pure heart” is one requirement. Such an individual, the Psalmist says in verse five, will receive “righteousness from the God of his salvation.” We may think that the idea of imputed righteousness by grace is a New Testament concept because of the Cross. True. But God has not changed and here we see that a right standing with God is also an Old Testament teaching. The Lord truly is the same yesterday, today and forever!

I was shocked. An article last week in The Wall Street Journal exposed the shocking extent of sexting, texting sexually explicit messages and photos, in a small-town Colorado high school. Students in Canon City were so obsessed with sending sexually explicit phots of each other that school officials canceled the football team’s final game for fear players were involved. The District Attorney pointed out that such sexting was illegal and could bring criminal charges. It could even lead to some students being registered as sex offenders. What really caught my attention was the statistic that, nationwide, 30% of American teens have shared a nude photo of themselves with another teen.

THIRTY PERCENT!!! And remember, what goes on the Internet never dies on the Internet. Many years later, perhaps decades, those photos could come back to haunt a job or a relationship. And it’s not just in Canon City. An expert on the issue, psychologist Jeff Temple at the University of Texas says, “I’d bet my mortgage it’s happening in every city. And, dare we say, every church?

How do we as Christians respond to this? First, it’s sin. The total unveiling of the human body in a sexual context outside of marriage is biblically forbidden, except in obvious case such as a medical context. (Take that, Picasso!) Second, it’s a sin with long-term consequences, even after possible repentance. As Shakespeare said, “The evil that men do lives after them” (Julius Caesar). Numbers 32:23 warns, “Your sin will find you out.” Third, it’s a demonic opening. Sexting a photo of oneself is an invitation for demonic possession. Take it from me, as an exorcist; that tweeted erotic image is giving Satan permission to enter the physical body that is being virtually sent into cyberspace.

An encouraging word:WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth,” Paul told the Ephesians (4:29). Perhaps I’m old-fashioned, but I’m disturbed by the increasing grossness of language used by some Christians. Frankly, they often speak almost the same as non-believers. That shouldn’t be. Our speech as Christians should identity our faith as much as our actions. To avoid legalism, I’ll not make a list of what I think are unacceptable adjectives and verbs. You can let the Holy Spirit guide you. But I encourage you today to think twice about what you say and ask yourself if the Lord is pleased by what comes out of your mouth. The last part of this verse implores us to “impart grace to the hearers.” That is tough, but try it.

There is power when people pray together! Most readers of this blog have seen me cast out demons in-person or on YouTube. (CLICK HERE to subscribe and receive weekly notices of new exorcisms posted to our YouTube Exorcism channel.) If so, you’ve noticed times when demons are not responding forthwith to my demands. In such cases, I persist to exercise the authority available to every believer; but some evil spirits are so strong that they continue to resist. At that point, I often turn to the audience and lead then in a unison prayer: We the people of God agree, according to Matthew 18:19. Obey the man of God and the people of God. In most instances, that corporate power of prayer is enough to break down the demons’ resistance. For those not familiar with this passage, Jesus declared, “If two of you agree concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Evil spirits respond in obedience to such prayers to several reasons:
·         God’s people are fulfilling a command of Christ.
·         Christians are agreeing with the most influential force in the universe, God’s power.
·         Such prayer is a consecrated, dedicated, sanctified moment of grace.
·         Those praying are jointly drawing near to the purposes and plans of God.
·         As in the Book of Acts, there is one accord without dissimulation.
·         Believers present a united front with no place for demons to exploit
·         The prior verse, Matthew 18:18, operates in conjunction by binding and loosing.

There were would less evil in our world, fewer openings for demonic spirits, and more spiritual freedom if Christians practiced the agreeing power of corporate prayer; if husbands and wives agreed for their families; if parents agreed with their children; if congregations agreed with their pastors; if the body politic agreed with godly leaders. The Body of Christ needs to rediscover the dunamis (Greek), the power to perform genuine miracles, working through the Holy Spirit to deliver to those in captive to Satan. That will happen we genuinely agree together in His name!

An encouraging word: THE ROD AND STAFF OF GOD
Psalm 23:4 is such a beloved passage that even many non-Christians can quote the words, “Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” David was speaking the language of a shepherd, who used the rod and staff for both protection and guidance of the sheep. This is what David considers to be comforting. He envisions the Lord with a spiritual rod by which we receive the same comfort as that afforded helpless sheep. The rod and staff we have isn’t a sapling of wood formed with a crook. We have the Bible as our means of protection and guidance. Let God’s Word comfort you today as a shepherd would his sheep.

I do stay aware of cultural trends that may involve demonic dangers, but it was my 14-year-old daughter who brought to my attention an internet story about kids playing with Ouija Boards and having meltdowns. First, three American kids were hospitalized after an encounter with an Ouija Board. They were visiting in Mexico when, while consulting the Board, they went into trances and started growling. Paramedics had to subdue them with anti-stress medication. A local Catholic priest was contacted, but he refused to do an exorcism.

In another reported incident, a teenager in Peru was rushed to the hospital screaming she had become possessed. In this case, the girl used a mobile phone app to consult the Board. The unidentified girl screamed “666” and “let me go I want my phone.” Witnesses said she spoke in a different voice and lost control over her body. She also had abnormal strength.

Apps? There are a variety of ways via Ouija Board apps that kids can get demons, including an online version of “Charlie, Charlie” the pencil game. The sword of technology swings both ways. More than 6 million people have viewed our YouTube exorcism channel. Conversely. Satan has exploited the opportunity of apps to kill, steal, and destroy. The variety of apps available includes “Ghost Town Spirit Board,” “Witch Board,” OuijaWeen” (Halloween version), “Chinese Ouija Board,” and even a “3D Spirit Ouija Plus,” to name a few. Parents and Christian leaders need to check out this stuff and be ready to give warnings. Just as important, they need to have ready answers along with the help and hope of deliverance to the victims of these demonic apps. An encouraging word:SIN CAME BY ONE MAN

Where did the idea of sin come from? Is it a concept made-up by the church to keep people in line, as some critics of Christianity has argued? Is it a convenient way to claim forgiveness for past wrongs so that the worst of deeds can be excused? The Bible is clear that sin isn’t a man made theological construct. “Sin entered into the world by one man, and death through sin,” Romans 12:1 tells us. That man was Adam. That same chapter tells us that it was one man, Christ Jesus, who paid the spiritual price for our sins. Sin is not an outdated idea. It is an eternally damning force, if not confronted by God’s grace. What have you done with your sins?

It’s that week again. Everywhere you look. Grocery stores, clothing retailers, coffee shops, and even doctors’ offices are strung with cobwebs, festooned with spiders, populated with witch hats, and regaled with skeletons and skulls. It’s Halloween this week, and as usual, Christians are split regarding their thoughts on the matter. One Christian blog that I read this week said that it is actually biblical to celebrate Halloween. The logic of the blog writer? “It’s a holiday, and as long as you’re not celebrating the demonic but just having fun, it’s not a big deal. Everybody just needs to chill out. Bless every child who comes to your door dressed like a zombie.”

Another Christian blog entitled “Why Christians Absolutely Should Not Celebrate Halloween” declared, “Setting aside a day to celebrate evil, darkness, witchcraft, fear, death and the demonic brings disdain to God.” C’mon, now, try real hard to guess which blog I agreed with.

I don’t know about the spiritual persuasions of the second writer, but I can certainly tell you something about the first blogger. He’s never done deliverance. Actually facing down demons changes everything. One thing being in deliverance ministry does is to make one aware of how heightened demonic activity is this time of year. Satan operates by something I’ve dubbed “Larson’s Law of the Conservation of Demonic Power.” Say what? Here’s what I mean. God is all powerful all the time. Not the devil. So he has to focus his energies in certain situations and at certain times. For unknown reasons concealed in antiquity, Satan choose the night of Halloween to marshal his forces and concentrate his finite power. It’s not the only season of evil on Satan’s calendar, but it’s his most important one. And we should go along with his imagery and cooperate with his deviltry? I think not. Halloween is a time to stand in contrast to all the evil accoutrements of the day. In fact, what a great time to engage in Christian witness when friends and neighbors wonder why you aren’t beating down doors with the kids dressed as a ghosts and mom looking like Elvira.

An encouraging word:THE LORD IS YOUR SHEPHERD

The Lord is many things to those who follow him. He is an omnipotent God An all-powerful Creator. The sustainer of life. God’s only Begotten Son. Sinless. Perfect. Healer. The Truth. The Way. A Savior. Coming King. Alpha and Omega. But Psalm 23:1 declares Him to be our Shepherd. That beloved psalm has endured through the ages because it the Lord’s role as one who shepherds our lives which becomes more precious with time. The Lord may be many things to you, but today trust Him as a little lamb, and let Him be your Shepherd.

Lamar Odom has demons. I’m glad that it appears he survived a close brush with death in a Nevada whorehouse, but his problems aren’t over. Not only has he forever tarnished his already shaky image, terrified those who love him, and shamed his reputation as a former NBA star, he has also dodged a bullet that nearly took his life. Strong words? Look at the facts of this unseemly saga that played out in the news all last week. Odom was found on Tuesday, passed out and unconscious, in a Nevada brothel called, and this is a misnomer if there ever was one, “The Love Ranch.” In case you haven’t gotten the facts yet, in addition to a lot of sex over the course of four days, Odem consumed at least 10 sexual-performance pills, untold quantities of cocaine, plus plenty of hard liquor. Odom spent more than $75,000 on the sex binge. Comatose and on life support for several days, he eventually revived over the weekend.

Finding the root cause of this sex and suicide mission is easy. His mother died of cancer when he was 12 and he was left with his irresponsible dad, a heroin addict. He also suffered the tragic death of a seven-month old, illegitimate son and his best friend who died from infected drug needles. He once said, “Death always seems to be around me.” He’s right. From where I see things, there was obviously a death curse on his life. But who was going to help him? Certainly not the Kardashian family he married into. Certainly not any pastor of a major pulpit in America. So, he spiraled downward until his demons made an eternal bid for his soul. Of course he had demons. His dad opened the door, and more were added at that hellhole of prostitution in Nevada. If he fully recovers and regains his senses, I have some advice. Don’t listen to Kanye and Kim, they can’t help you. Momma Kris has no spiritual wisdom to offer. Khloe may still love you, but she can’t cast out your demons. If you get out of that hospital, you’ll likely be in trouble again before too long until you get delivered. Lamar, only Jesus can keep you away from ill-repute and out of hell.

An encouraging word:THREE DAY DIFFERENCE

“He is risen!” Those resounding words of Mark 16:6. The words of the angel to the two Marys seeking to anoint the body of Jesus are the foundation of our faith as Christians. But think of this. Three days earlier, it was all gloom and doom. Jesus had been crucified, and He was dead. What a difference three days made. With God, that’s all it takes. You may be facing something that seems unsurmountable. Your challenges may feel like they’ll take years and years to resolve. But God is the God of the three-day-difference. Before you give up on your dreams, turn your situation over the Lord and give Him a little time to come through. May I suggest that you wait at least three days?
