Curses Have Consequences

Before there was El Paso and Dayton, there was Jonesboro, Arkansas, March 24, 1998. Two children, Mitchel Johnson, age 13, and Andrew Golden, age 11, set up a slaughter at their middle school. They rang a fire alarm, causing the evacuation of the school, while waiting in a wooded area 100 yards away. The two opened fire on the students exiting outside, killing four and a teacher. Ten were wounded. The youngsters had a stolen van filled with 3 semi-automatic rifles, crossbows, and hunting knives. They were caught and adjudicated as delinquents, sent to reform institutes, and released at age 21 with no criminal record. Once released, both were involved in brushes with the law, including theft, drugs, and the possession of firearms. In July of this year, roughly 20 years after the school massacre, Golden, who had changed his name to Drew Grant, now age 33, was driving down an Arkansas road near Little Rock when he was hit head-on by a Chevy pickup driven by Daniel Petty. Both drivers were killed instantly. Galatians 6:7 was fulfilled: What a man sows that shall he reap!No one, according to my research, ever came up with a clear explanation for the shootings. Some suggested the motives were a mixture of youthful machoism and unrequited puppy love. This is much is clear. The murder that was visited on the victims of Johnson and Golden became a curse that boomeranged on both. Johnson has repeatedly been afoul of the law, and Golden is now dead from a violent car crash. When Golden pulled the trigger that day in 1998 he brought a curse of death on his own head. Based on my experiences as an exorcist, I wouldn’t be surprised to find that in the bloodlines of both there are relatives and/or ancestors who committed murder or suicide. What these two kids did couldn’t have happened without some pre-existing curse of death.   Curses have consequences. Our Personal Spiritual Encounter session constantly reveal that the evil impulses of today have roots in the past. The individual molested now has a parent or blood relative to whom the same thing happened. The victim of certain diseases may find that several people in their bloodline suffered the same malady. In fact, most human tragedy is rooted in ancestral links to evil in other ages. Read our book “Curse Breaking” (to order click here) which explains the continuity and perpetuity of curses. The book also includes 25 pages of detailed prayers to break curses. Our International School of Exorcism has even more details about the ongoing evil of curses. Our Advanced Academy of Deliverance has two hour-long training modules with detailed descriptions of the ethno-centric beginnings of curses. Get the facts. Get your curses before your curses get you. Curses have consequences!

An encouraging word: THE LORD’S SWORD

One of the demons I most frequently face (besides the ever-present Jezebel) is Leviathan. For any who are tormented by this cunning and evil spirit, Isaiah 27:1 has a promise: The Lord will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent . . .” All evil is ultimately subject to the Lord, even the most hideous of demonic forces. Whatever spiritual oppression you may facing, remember that God has a “fierce, great and powerful sword” ready to set you free!

El Paso and Dayton Satanic Killers

Nine killed in Dayton, Ohio and 22 murdered in El Paso. This past week, our nation has been transfixed with shock, horror, and revulsion at the domestic carnage caused by two young men, Connor Betts in Ohio and Patrick Crusius in El Paso. As expected, there have been calls for more gun control and better attention to mental health issues. News anchors, journalists and pundits of various persuasions have opined on the cause of these killings. Some running for public office have tried to make political capital directly blaming the President as if he had pulled the trigger. But a closer look at the shooters reveals what they did was the work of Satan.

My book “Dealing with Demons” was written with this premise in mind: How can we know if an individual’s actions are the result of negative nurturing and bad influences or if Satan was directly involved? Two important factors to consider are these: 1) What kind of home and family influences were present during their formative years? and 2) What evil choices did these individuals make on their own that opened doors to the devil?
The father of Patrick Crusius was Bryan Crusisus, who battled alcoholism for 40 years, which led to the breakup of the family. Patrick was apparently conceived illegitimately by an 18-year relationship that his father had with his mother. The elder Crusius admits to also taking hallucinogenic drugs and magic mushrooms. He claims to have been cured of his alcoholism after Jesus spoke directly to him following an encounter with his dead grandmother (the sin of necromancy). Bryan now practices energy healing. These influences of family brokenness, drug abuse, New Age and occult practices opened the door to demons in Bryan and Patrick. Whatever anti-Hispanic template Patrick later placed on his twisted ideology, the root cause of his anger was demonic.
Conner Betts, the Dayton shooter, was a left-leaning, socialist ideologue who praised Satan in his media posts. In one selfie he included the hashtag; selfie4satan #HailSatan@SatanTweeting. His father also wrote on Facebook about leftist politics. He tweeted once that “my horoscope just reads doom.” His left shoulder sported what appears to be the tattoo of a goat’s head image of Lucifer. Of southern border immigration issues he wrote, “Cut the fences down. Slice ICE tires. Throw bolt cutters over the fences.” He was also into what’s called “porngrind,” a form of metal music devoted to twisted sexual images. He was a fan of the black-metal band Neckbeard Deathcamp who declare of those who oppose their music, “May their light of hope be consumed by the dark as we will know no mercy.” Betts also had his own band called the Menstrual Munchies. He sang songs about sexual violence and sex with corpses (necrophilia). One tune was entitled, “Sexual Abuse of a Teenage Corpse.”
To police and preachers, politicians and pundits, stop looking for motives! The evidence is in front of you. These were demonic crimes. Don’t blame Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders. Crusius and Betts were both demonized. Of course, both were mentally destabilized. BUT WHY! There were overt satanic influences in the lives of both. As an exorcist, it’s clear to me that these were Luciferian crimes. It’s not about the guns. They would have found another way to murder and mayhem. The El Paso and Dayton killers where demonic, and there are more like them out there, that only exorcism and spiritual warfare in the name of Jesus will halt. Enroll NOW in our International School of Exorcism and find out what you can do to stop this evil done in the name of Satan.

An encouraging word: IN THE DARKNESS

“He made darkness his covering” (Psalm 18:11). Now that’s a strange statement. Perhaps it means that what God does, He does in secret in ways we cannot understand. God works in mysterious ways where the light of day doesn’t always shine. And when darkness surrounds us, it doesn’t mean that God has abandoned us, as we sometimes think. It just means that His purposes are hidden. We want to look for the Lord in the brightness of the sun where everything is glowing; but sometimes we need to be patient, even in the darkness. It is there that He may doing His greatest work in our lives.

Dysfunction or Demons?

For decades, Pastor Bill Hybels of the Chicago-area Willow Creek Community Church was the reigning dean of megachurch pastors. Before there was Rick Warren or Joel Osteen, there was Hybels, whose church growth policies spawned a “denomination” of imitators. Now, his empire of 20,000-plus weekly attendees on seven campuses lays in ruins. The demise came because Hybels was accused of multiple sexual indiscretions which, according to current Willow Creek officials, lasted for many years. Many women claiming to be victims have publicly come forward. Hybels denies the allegations, but after an independent investigation and supporting evidence, the Willow Creek board removed Hybels and his hand-picked successors and issued an apology for his actions.
Hybels is not the only high-profile pastor to crash and burn during recent years. Such occurrences are almost epidemic. This tragedy led the evangelical journal “Christianity Today” to recently publish an excellent article entitled: “How can so many pastors be godly and dysfunctional at the same time.” It’s a well-written analysis of pastoral failure that should be a must-read for all current and prospective ministers. But it misses a crucial element regarding the reason many men and women of God fail. The article should have been entitled, “How can so many pastors be godly, dysfunctional, and demonized at the same time?”
Preachers are Christians, and Christians can have demons. Our books such as “Dealing with Demons” biblically establish this fact. Not every failure in ministry can be attributed to burnout or lack of personal psychological balance. But demons, like the spirit Jezebel, specifically target those who are called to a ministerial vocation. My book “Jezebel—Defeating Your #1 Spiritual Enemy” describes how this happens and explains how to prevent it.
Let’s ask some serious questions. First, how many successful ministers have an understanding of generational curses and have prayed to cancel the effect of evil deeds of ancestors? Second, how many seminary students are encouraged to undergo deliverance to root out lingering evil from their deeds before Christian confession? In most cases, the answer to these questions is almost zero. Sadly, men of God are ordained to ministry with little spiritual introspection of their own lives that would identify unbroken spiritual strongholds. Our International School of Exorcism (to enroll click here) explains how the Early Church demanded multiple, personal exorcisms before candidates for ministry were ordained. Today, one is considered odd or unbiblical to bring up such a suggestion.
I’m saddened by what’s happened to Hybels. Unquestionably, by God’s grace he has done many wonderful works for the Lord. Many have been saved because of his passion for the gospel. Men and women of God do sin, and they are in need of healing and restoration. We are all imperfect vessels and the issue here isn’t heaping more guilt on the fallen. But unless the evangelical church of America embraces a clearer understanding of spiritual warfare, there will be more ministers who are victims of psychological dysfunction and undetected demonization.
An encouraging word: TURN TO GOD
If you’re going through a tough time, the Psalmist David has a word for you. “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted . . . free me from anguish”’ (Psalm 25:16). You’re not the first person to cry out in despair. David closes his cry with the words, “I take refuge in you” (v. 20). There is the place you need to turn in time of turmoil. Some turn to addictions, obsessions, entertainment, or even cults in time of need. They try to replace the desperate desire for connection with God with something else — anything. Make your refuge the Lord and you will be truly freed from your anguish.

Prayer Postures

There are many postures to prayer. Kneeling is the one we associate most with prayer, unless you’re a protesting NFL player. The Bible records various ways of approaching God: Abraham fell on his face (Genesis 17:3); Moses stretched out his hands (Exodus 9:27-29). Solomon knelt (I Kings 8:54) and Jesus looked up to heaven (Mark 6:41). Bowing is recommended in the Psalms (95:6 for example). Prostration is perhaps the most severe. Each prayer posture has its own expression of petition, humility, or exuberance.
Eastern meditation practices of Hinduism and Buddhism have a different approach. Bodily positions, particularly in yoga, are called “asanas,” such as the lotus position, sitting with crossed legs and the spinal column straight. The lotus posture can get more specific, with the tongue against the roof of the mouth, chin tucked in, and shoulders back. In the most demonic form of yoga, kundalini yoga, practitioners may sway, as the snake at the base of the spine rises upward and the flow of “energy” awakens the mind to god-consciousness.
There are also finger postures. Pressing on finger endings is said to stimulate energy connections. Want to get rid of demons? The Karana mudra (hand gesture) of Buddhism consists of pressing the thumb against the two middle fingers with the index finger and little finger raised upward; its purpose is to expel demons and heal sicknesses. (It’s also been adopted as a salute in Satanism.) Holding the hands at the chest, intertwining all fingers except the index fingers, which are straight up touching each other, is supposed to liberate one from snake spirits.
Christians proponents of yoga, beware. What you thought were meaningless gestures are intentional ways of opening doors to the demonic world. Certain hand positions relate to astrological signs and planets; others connect with sexuality; the hands with palms pressed together firmly intends to harmonize the male and female, good and evil, yin/yang, sections of the brain. Touching index finger to thumb (chin mudra) is said to connect the elements fire and air. This excites “prana” energy and stimulates the mooladhara (first) chakra at the base of the spine where the Shakti goddess, kundalini serpent is awakened. In yoga, this is believed to evoke the primordial, sexual power of god.
Christian postures of prayer are about connecting with a transcendent God who is omnipotent, holy, and separate from ourselves. The prayer postures of meditation, yoga and other Eastern disciplines are about wakening the god within. The choice is clear. You can choose to worship the Creator or your own ego, the created. But be careful about the prayer postures you use to find God.

An encouraging word: THE COMBAT ZONE

David called upon the Lord to, “Hide me in the shadow of your wings from . . . my mortal enemies who surround me” (Psalm 17:8). The once-shepherd boy was keenly aware that adversaries were out to destroy him. Peter put it this way: Your adversary the devil, as a roaring like, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). If you aren’t aware that Satan is out to get you, you’re living with a false sense of security. The truth is that Christians live in a combat zone. The only way to spiritually survive is to be battle-ready. Don’t be lulled by the kind of comfortable Christianity that ignores the real demonic warfare we all face every day. Denying the reality of demons and the devil only increases the risk of danger.

The Third Eye

During a recent one-on-on Personal Spiritual Encounter we ministered to a woman whose family was deeply involved in the occult. There were many things to be renounced and multiple curses to be broken. But after considerable time, we still hadn’t achieved the breakthrough we needed. It was then that the woman said, “You know, my mother talked a lot of how she could see into the spirit realm through her third eye.” BINGO. That was it. In Eastern religions, the third eye “chakra” (psychic energy center) is seen as the key to spiritual awakening of the individual’s soul. It’s considered the sixth chakra (sometimes seventh) in the brow area between the eyes, sometimes in the center of the forehead, the eye of the mind or the soul, the gateway to higher, inner consciousness. The yogi who develops this chakra is said to be freed from time-bound consciousness and transcends the personal ego self to achieve super-consciousness, god-consciousness. This is why you’ll see devout Hindus wearing a jewel (women) in this location of the forehead or having a mark of holy ash from a Hindu temple, known as “tlaka.” The third eye is awakened by meditation and is believed to be the dwelling of the Hindu god Shiva, Lord of Destruction.   During ministry, I have often been able to call forth the demon(s) connected to this eye, simply by placing the edge of my Bible, as a spiritual sword, piercing this demonic locale. This raises a question: Do demons sometimes reside in specific body locations? Yes. Even though they are non-spatial, spirit beings, once they inhabit a physical body, they are bound by the time/space confines of that body. Thus, they may dwell in a specific area. If an individual opens the door to demons by a spiritual practice, such as yoga or meditation, the evil spirit may lay claim to that body part which has been used as the spiritual source of invocation.

All non-Christian meditation techniques should be avoided, even if awakening the third eye is not a specifically stated goal. This is also true with yoga, even so-called “holy Christian yoga.” The posturing positions have been specifically developed over millennia to evoke third-eye awareness, whether that is the intended goal of the yoga follower. The ultimate lie of third-eye consciousness is two-fold: 1) that the path to spiritual awareness is through focus on a specific body location, rather than the biblical truths of Christ’s blood atonement and resurrection, and 2) that the goal of spirituality is the dissolving of one’s ego for immersion in the oneness of god consciousness, rather than harmony with Jesus Christ by repentance of personal sin and submission to His Lordship as the only Son of God.

An encouraging word: THE COMBAT ZONE

David called upon the Lord to, “Hide me in the shadow of your wings from . . . my mortal enemies who surround me” (Psalm 17:8). The once-shepherd boy was keenly aware that adversaries were out to destroy him. Spiritual Warfare Lies

The devil is a liar. Jesus said so in John 8:44: “He [the devil] is a liar and the father of it.” Lying is the one characteristic of evil that most epitomizes Satan’s kingdom. The devil lies about anything and everything, but he is particularly adept at lying about spiritual warfare. These lies don’t always originate with unsaved people. They can also come from Christians, some who mean well but are terribly misinformed. The most common falsehoods about demons are debunked in our books and especially in our International School of Exorcism (ISE). If you want the truth and the whole story, enroll in ISE now. (Enroll by clicking here.) For now, here’s a brief response to the most common prevarications concerning deliverance and spiritual warfare.
Christians can’t have demons. This conclusion is due to a misunderstanding of the tripartite nature of the human condition. Demons can’t dwell in the regenerated spirit of a Christian, but they can inhabit those portions of the soul/mind/psyche which have not been surrendered to Christ. Few believers get demons after being saved; but many have evil spirits which are a holdover from their life before conversion. Most demons in Christians are there because of generational evil, and demonic rights which were granted by ancestors. Day after day I minister to good Christians who are, nevertheless, tormented in various ways because of sins of ancestors. This truth is easily demonstrable to anyone in deliverance ministry and is only discounted by those who have no empirical knowledge base for the lie that Christians can’t have demons.
There’s no need to break curses. Confusion concerning this issue is due to a misunderstanding of “positional” vs. “conditional” spiritual truth. Positionally, Christ’s death on the cross delivered us from the power of generational curses, according to Galatians 3:13, but this fact is not automatic and must be personally appropriated by faith. In a similar way, we are not saved by the substitutionary atonement of Christ just because His crucifixion is a fact. We must act on that fact by faith and receive it as a personal, conditional truth. In the same way, our curses are broken when we truly believe in and confess the power of Christ’s blood to break curses.
Once saved, no evil spirit can influence you. If this were true, no Christian would ever be guilty of grave sins such as stealing, alcohol abuse, drug addictions, or sexual misconduct. But it’s clear that Christians can and do sin. Such transgressions can’t always be dismissed as works of the world or the flesh. Sometimes evil actions are the consequence of seducing evil spirits which draw Christians into grave moral evil. It is disingenuous to say that great men and women of God who have fallen morally were just victims of fleshly desires. That is a partial truth that ignores the role that deceiving demons play in destroying the work of God.
If you are under demonic attack and you believe one of these lies, there is little hope for you. You cannot overcome something which you deny exists. You can’t conquer an obstacle when you refuse to admit that it exists.
An encouraging word: SUPERSTITION
Isaiah’s condemnation of ancient Judah (2:6) sounds like a headline from today: They are full of superstitions from the East. That pretty much describes America’s fascination with all things Eastern – Transcendental Meditation, Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, gurus of all sorts. Even the church is caught up in so-called “holy yoga,” which is a misnomer if there ever was one. All the non-Christian philosophies of mysticism can be summed up in a single word – superstition, incredulous beliefs. But the Christian faith is based on clear, historical evidence of God’s dealing with humanity, not some superstition about ethereal realms of spirituality.

New Age Democrats

Two dozen Democrats are running for President in 2020. They include United States Senators and Representatives, along with an assortment of mayors, former mayors, and Joe Biden the former Vice President under Obama. Only one of them Marianne Williamson has not held an elected office. Her title during the June 27th debate was listed as “author.” At the end of the debate all 10 candidates were asked to give a summary statement. Williamson said: “This man [President Donald Trump] has reached into the psyche of the American people, and he’s harnessed fear for political purposes . . . and only love can cast that out. I’m going to harness love for political purposes — love will win.”

What’s that all about? If you don’t know, Williamson is a New Age guru who writes and speaks about occult spirituality. Her books include “The Law of Divine Compensation,” “Illuminated Prayers,” “The Gift of Change: Spiritual Guidance for Living Your Best Life,” and “Handbook for the Soul,” in which she teams up with an assortment of New Age self-help teachers such as Ram Das (discussed in LARSON’S BOOK OF WORLD RELIGIONS).

Her most famous role was chief promoter of “A Course in Miracles.” Williamson’s best-selling book “A Return to Love” took off where the “Course” left off. And what is the “Course in Miracles” all about? Its three-volume set totaling 1,200 pages was originally written by a woman named Helen Schucman, a psychologist at Columbia University, who penned the tome by means of demonic, automatic handwriting from a being she called “the voice.” The Course’s theme was summed up with the declaration: “Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists.”(For further information consult LARSON’S BOOK OF WORLD RELIGIONS. To order click here.) The Course basically denies every major doctrine of Christianity, including original sin, the blood atonement, the bodily resurrection of Christ and His deity as the only means of salvation (Acts 4:12).
I personally debated Williamson some years ago in a New Age symposium that I attended for research. When I confronted her about the intellectual dishonesty of including Jesus and Christianity in her occult teachings, she went ballistic. A real Jezebel manifestation. There is no doubt in my mind, both from observing her in person, as well as knowing her close connection to New Age occultism, that she is demonized. That Williamson would run for president and get enough donations to quality for the Democratic debates is shocking. Of course, Williamson stands no chance of winning the nomination. That’s not the point. The tragedy is that her spiritual views are apparently considered mainstream by some leaders of the Democratic Party, a fact that should alarm any registered Democrat. The party of John Kennedy and “Scoop” Jackson should wake up lest it becomes not only condemned as socialist but also branded as New Age.

An encouraging word: GOD IS RIGHTEOUS

“The Lord our God is righteous in everything He does,” Daniel 9:14 declares. Yet how often do we mere humans question His design for humanity? “Why does He permit such evil?” we say of wars and natural disasters. “Why doesn’t God just destroy Satan?” some argue, when they probably don’t even believe there is a devil. God gets blamed for a lot – disease, suffering, bloodshed, and even prayers that are assumed to be unanswered; but GOD IS RIGHTEOUS. He can do no wrong. We may not see His purpose or understand His ways, but we dare not conclude that He is somehow off course with his intentions toward mankind.

Showdown with Satanism

A week ago last Friday, we held a seminar in Detroit, Michigan. When it came time to open the doors to the meeting room, I was shocked at what I saw. Standing in line first to get inside were about two dozen members of the local chapter of The Satanic Temple. Many were all black-clad, some in long, flowing robes, and festooned with an array of demonic paraphernalia, including ubiquitous, devil-worshiping, goat’s-head pentagrams. The leaders seated themselves on the front row, giving horned, two-fingered salutes to Satan.   For those not familiar with this cult, I’ve covered their activities in previous blogs: “Satanic Temple at Seminar” 04/01/19 (To read click here.); “Satanic Merry Christmas” 12/17/18 (To read click here.): “Satanism Triumphs” 02/22/16 (To read click here.) This demonic organization is the newly gussied-up face of Satanism. Unlike the secretive-nudes-on-the-alter brand of Anton LaVey (author of “The Satanic Bible”) or the Temple of Set (which believes in a real devil), the Temple is in the public, in your face. Instead of the standard satanic glorification of sensual desires, they emphasize First Amendment rights, putting half-human, half-goat Baphomet demon statues in public place, and file lawsuits to open official governmental meetings with invocations of “Hail Satan.”   That night in Detroit they were respectful, for the most part, minus a few obnoxious interruptions. Mostly they were polite, waiting to take selfies with me and proclaiming they were my biggest fans—no kidding. They proved it by bringing with them personal copies of my books, including older ones out of print like “Satanism: The Seduction of America’s Youth” which they implored me to autograph. So, what was their real point, and why did I allow them to attend?   Who else is going to bring them the gospel and demonstrate the power of Christ? We are to love our “enemies” (Luke 6:27) and preach the gospel to “every creature” (Mark 16:15). More importantly, that night they witnessed up-close-and-personal a violent, unmistakably authentic exorcism of a young mother, possessed by demons because of Freemasonry in her bloodline. The Temple leaders were just a few feet away from seeing the chilling, demonic manifestations of an otherwise loving, Christian woman.   Pray for the Satanists who were there in Detroit, that the demonstration of God’s love and power over a real devil will prevail. More than ever, we need an army of Warriors for Christ, highly trained in fighting the forces of Hell. If there was ever a time to enroll in our International School of Exorcism and Advanced Academy of Deliverance, it’s now. Polite, smiling sermons and cleverly marketed religious relevancy will not win the showdown with Satanism in these last days.

An encouraging word: DON’T MAKE GOD MAD

In Psalm 18:7 David paints a picture of God that doesn’t sit well with our American seeker-friendly style of Christianity. “Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry.” NKJV Wow! If I were you, I wouldn’t want the Lord to be upset. Yes, He is loving and gracious, and He maintains “love to thousand, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin” (Exodus 34:6). But God is also holy, and just, and no sin can be tolerated in His presence. Don’t be deceived by today’s easy believism to the point that you upset God’s righteous character. Don’t make Him mad!

Psychedelic Insanity

As if there aren’t enough demonic forces unleashed on western civilization, some in government and academia are lobbying for the wholesale legalization of previously banned drugs, including “magic” mushrooms, psilocybin, LSD, ayahuasca, and other hallucinogens. We’re not talking about warmed-over, acid-head hippies. Advocates for tuning in and turning on include scientists and politicians. My former hometown of Denver Colorado reached a new Rocky Mountain high last month by decriminalizing shrooms. Oakland, California has done the same. Psilocybin is being touted as a cure for post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and even cancer. The drug lobby is pushing to get science on their side. Like they did with marijuana, they promote the supposed “medical” benefits as a cultural wedge to gain acceptance.   It may sound like a bad 60s trip, but advocates for psychedelic insanity are serious. Having bought the big lie that cannabis is harmless, pot-head politicians and greedy businessmen are now on a binge to push the boundaries on restricting any recreational drug. As no surprise, socialist democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently filed legislation that would allow researchers to study the therapeutic and medical benefits of psilocybin and other psychedelic drugs.   Every week I deal with several encounter clients who have been demonized by drugs. Getting high or tripping out is an almost guaranteed way to be invaded by evil spirits. Throughout history many pagan civilizations, from the ancient Aztec to pre-Christian Hindus have used mind-altering drugs to facilitate spirit possession. Having spiritually devastated pagan civilizations of the East, demons in these Last Days are focused full force on Western countries, especially America. Christians need to up their game on this issue. Being opposed to the recreational use of psychotropic drugs is as pro-life as protesting in front of Planned parenthood.

A three-page article in the international news journal “The Economist” recently reported on the real reason behind psychedelic insanity by quoting from a research facility: “It may be that what you get from psychedelics is a crash course in the effects that you could get from a long-held meditation practice…the self-control and cognitive benefits from meditation couldn’t come from a crash course. But in terms of the enhanced sense of self, this may be a helicopter ride to the top of the mountain, while those on the meditation path are hiking up.” There you have it. The Eastern meditation goal of enlightenment, becoming aware of your own inner god-self won’t require staring your navel in a lotus position. You can have it all in one magic mushroom. Along with a truckload of demons.

An encouraging word: TRUST IN THE LORD

‘I trusted in thee, O Lord.” Simple but powerful words from Psalm 31:14. David isn’t declaring confidence in a feeling or emotion. His is a conscious, willful decision to put faith in God above all else. He is making a deliberate decision that acknowledges ALL our spiritual problems come from NOT trusting in the Lord. Most important is the “Thee.” I like that old English word. David’s trust wasn’t in an idea, a doctrine, a philosophy or a methodology. It was in the Thee of the eternal Godhead. In whom do you place your trust today?

Jezebel to the Moon

The National Space Aeronautics Administration (NASA) wants to send Jezebel to the moon. Even though we’ve already been there, NASA is seeking up to $30 billion taxpayers’ dollars to go back; but this time, the stated purpose is to land a woman on the moon by 2024. In the name of political correctness and gender equality, the government will send a female (perhaps trans-gendered to be REALLY be politically on target) to a place we haven’t been to in 50 years and have precious little to show for it except a few rocks and some great photos of planet Earth. I’m not opposed in principle to space exploration, but this project is named the Artemis Program, after the Greek fertility goddess, daughter of Zeus and twin sister of Apollo, known as Diana to the Romans. Those who have read my book “Jezebel” know that this demon deity is yet another prototype of the Lilith/Jezebel spirit, the dominant demon of our time. My book “Jezebel,” in chapter two, lists others of this Jezebel genre: Ishtar, Ashtoreth, Aphrodite, Isis, etc. She was also known as Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft.
In ancient times, Artemis represented the hunt, the wilderness, animals, and worship of the Moon. She was believed to brings diseases upon women and then take it away. It was the worship of Artemis in Ephesus that nearly resulted in the death of the apostle Paul (Acts chapter 19). While in Ephesus, Paul confronted the demonic forces of Diana/Artemis worship. Acts 19:12 tells us he performed exorcisms, even in absentia by anointed handkerchiefs, “and the evil spirits went out of them.” The converted and delivered citizens of Ephesus had a huge bonfire to destroy all their occult paraphernalia. This angered the idol-makers, including a silversmith named Demetrius. A riot ensued and two of Paul’s companions, Gaius and Aristarchus were seized and Paul might have been killed had not friends rescued him. I’ve been to the ancient site of Ephesus, now near Izmir, Turkey. In the nearby museum where millennia-old statues of Artemis abound, this demon god is most often depicted in her sexual mode, more than a dozen pendulant breasts hanging from her chest to emphasize her eroticism.
The demon Artemis is opposed to Christianity. To spend tens of billions of dollars for a socially-engineered goal of gender equanimity is a waste of money and an affront to God. Satisfying political correctness by this spiritual affront will bring yet another curse on our country. We may or may not get a woman to the moon, but the moral trajectory of this idolatrous action will open up our culture to increased demonic attacks.

An encouraging word: QUIETNESS

We live in a restless world. Try to walk down a busy street without running into someone texting, not looking. Bruce Springsteen’s lament in 1992 about “57 Channels (And Nothin’ On”) seems quaint more than 20 years later with hundreds of channels at our disposal. (And still “Nothin’ on.) Try prying an X-Box or Play Station away from a Grand Theft Auto playing teen. We’ve forgotten the Scriptural admonition that “in quietness and trust is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). Just once today, slow down, get alone, get quiet and get with God. It will do wonders for your soul.
