#1 Reason People Have Demons

What is the #1 reason that people have demons? It isn’t what you think. It isn’t because they were involved in the occult. It isn’t even because of bloodline curses. That’s how you get demons. I’ve done lots of teaching on how people get demons in our School of Exorcism. But this time I want to emphasize why many have demons. The reason you may have demons because you’ve done nothing to get rid of them. It’s that simple.

The area of ministry called deliverance has many misconceptions, especially by those who are new to this calling from God. Some assume that if you’ve prayed to break generational, family curses that the demons attached to this past evil automatically leave. Not so. The power of a curse may be mitigated by declaring the curse canceled, but the demon attached to it often doesn’t spontaneously depart.

The same is true with a sin forgiven. The eternal consequence of a sin is removed by confession and God’s grace. It no longer holds sway eternally. But a curse is different. This form of evil isn’t about consolation, it’s about cancelation. First John 1:9 says (KJV), “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Case closed. The redemption of the cross removes our sins from us as “as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12 NKJV). But curses, and the evil spirits attached to them, are a matter of earthly, genetic and behavioral disposition. Thus, some people have demons because they haven’t confronted the generational evil operating through such iniquities.

The #1 reason people have evil spirits is because they’ve done nothing specific to exorcise their demons directly by confrontation and expulsion. Nowhere does Scripture suggest that demons leave because they are bored, intimidate, fatigued, or irritated. They leave because they are expelled. “In My name they will cast out demons,” Jesus said (Mark 16:17 NKJV). Demons go because they are made to go. They aren’t coaxed out by curse breaking. They aren’t removed by soothing prayers or prophetic pronouncements. Demons go when they are pressured to leave by insistent prayer and bold commands. In most cases they must speak, give up their rights, and declare their downfall.

To be clear, it is good to confess all your sins. It is wonderful to nullify ancestral evil. And it is awesome to receive inner healing. But none of this should ever be a substitute for interrogation, purgation, and the abdication of any evil spirits still hanging around because they weren’t confronted and cast out.

Satanism in Public Schools

If it were not tragic, it would sound like a bad joke. But it’s true. After school “Satan-Clubs” have been established in public schools, and more are on the way. Claiming legal protection by a Supreme Court ruling, a group known as The Satanic Temple is establishing clubs for the devil in various public schools. It made news recently, but it has been going on for years and gaining momentum. I am very familiar with the group behind this and want to tell you what is really going on. This issue may seem minor now, but it is a crack in the door for demons to boldly enter classrooms. Ironically, it was claimed discrimination against a Christian school club that resulted in the 2001 Supreme Court ruling of “Good News Club v. Milford Central School” that opened the door. The Satanic Temple claimed that what was good for Christians also applied to them. More about that illogic in a moment.

Previous attempts by The Satanic Temple to infiltrate public schools have mostly encountered disinterest. One reason is that for a student to attend an after-school club they must have parental permission. And what goes on at clubs for the devil? According to the Temple actual Satanism isn’t taught, as least not explicitly. The temple says students participate in “games and thinking exercises, benevolence and creative expression.” Hmm. Wonder what that means. The latest controversy is over a club at a Moline, Illinois elementary school, designed for grades one through five. A Satanic Temple flyer says the children will learn “basic education skill.” What? I thought that was what they were supposed to be getting in the classroom?

Instead of fighting back against such nonsense the Board of Education in Moline issued a statement saying, “To illegally deny their organization to pay to rent our publicly-funded institution, after school hours, subjects the district to a discrimination lawsuit, which we will not win, likely taking thousands upon thousands of tax-payer dollars away from our teachers, staff and classrooms.” They may call this prudence; I call this pathetic capitulation. The kids in the club are not cognitively enhanced adults, they are children with easily malleable minds. Does the Board of Education really think that Satanists can be trusted to completely avoid any ideology of evil? To draw that conclusion is to be horribly naïve or grossly negligent of child welfare.

I know The Satanic Temple well. Over the years their groups have randomly attended our seminars. Two years ago, before COVID hit, about 25 of them attended our seminar in Detroit. That night a young mother violently manifested demons. At one point, the demons pointed to The Satanic Temple members sitting on the front row, dressed totally in black, and sneeringly said, “These people are my puppets.” (Click on this link to watch the video “The Devil in Detroit” to see what happened that night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7o1ajQ63yg.

For all of the demonic bravado of The Satanic Temple, they are craven when it comes to a real debate about their beliefs. Notwithstanding the “congeniality” of their members in Detroit, the leaders have stonewalled every contact made to them by our ministry. We have given them an opportunity to debate me on our livestream “Bob Larson Live.” No response. In just a few weeks, The Temple is bringing their national convention to Scottsdale, Arizona where our offices and studio are located. They call it Satancon. I contacted them saying I planned to attend, (Not likely now because of COVID with my family and staff.) and I asked to debate them in public. Remember, I allowed them to debate me in my seminars. No response. Either they are too incompetent to give a reasonable response, or they are afraid. I presume the latter.

If The Satanic Temple thinks that having a Satan club in public schools, using the facilities built with hard-earned, taxpayers’ dollars, is about freedom of religion, here are my concerns.

#1 – Can we really assume that these ideologues of evil will never mention anything regarding their beliefs during their club meetings?

#2 – Are they trustworthy enough, as Satanists, to never attempt even the most subtle indoctrination of the minds of children as young as five or six?

#3 – I understand that the Temple is officially “non-theistic” and claims they are not Satanist in the classical sense, that they don’t worship a literal devil. But that distinction is merely academic. In the supernatural world of demonic evil, they spiritually embrace a real devil who uses them as satanic storm troopers creating spiritual shock and awe to get people used to the idea of Satanists in our midst.

#4 – The symbol of the Temple is the dual-sexualized Baphomet image of Lucifer featuring a stylized male phallus, female breasts, cloven feet, horns, a goat’s head with a pentagram. If that is their standard bearer, the image emblazoned on their official website, should children be placed at the mercy of individuals who give homage to such a demonic, grotesque depiction of the devil?

#5 — More on Baphomet. He is the demon worshiped by the Knights Templar, precursor to Freemasonry. This demon goes back to ancient Egypt. The Satanic Temple has a large statue of this image, being adored by two children, which it has placed in public places, including the state capitol of Illinois. It is one of the alternate images of Lucifer, and to adopt this depiction is to invite possession of this evil spirit and his minions.

America, take these incursions of demonic beliefs seriously. They may seem like minor irritations now, but over time evil metastasizes. “Overcome evil with good,” Romans 12:21 reminds us. If more Christians were casting out demons, there would be fewer people left to become Satanists of any kind. Enroll in our School of exorcism and get started now, fighting back against the devil with actions, not rhetoric, real spiritual warfare instead of abstract, prophetic pronouncements.

How to Tell a Demon to Leave

How do you tell a demon to leave? This question is based on several suppositions. First, the assumption that an individual receiving prayer ministry has displayed indisputable demonic behavior, some form of manifestation. Second, that whoever is praying with that person has the desire to banish the evil spirit. Is there a right way and a wrong way to attempt an exorcism? Yes, but before explaining the best approach to ridding an individual from a demon, let’s consider what not to do when confronted with demonic behavior.

Don’t adopt the approach that demons shouldn’t be allowed to speak. Demons are generally not going to be cast out, and kept out, unless the relevant curses in the life of the host are broken and the demon’s legal rights are removed. Our International School of Exorcism has detailed training on how best to approach this. We emphasize that some things which are necessary for a successful deliverance can only be known by demonic interrogation. It’s what the demons know concerning its root and right of entry that must be revealed. In addition, it is usually crucial to understand how the demon currently operates in the host. In most cases, this information can only be known by demanding that the manifesting demon reveal it. In the majority of cases involving demonic possession, the evil spirits can speak and should be made to speak. This is biblical, as explained in our School of Exorcism.

In most cases, the secret knowledge of curses and open doors of entry are not known by the deliverance minister. This is especially true when the facts are obscured by ancient history. But usually, demons know the exact origin of their inhabitation and how they are currently embedded. Get these vital facts by demanding disclosure in the name of Jesus. Once the demon’s legal rights and tormenting curses have been confirmed, here’s what to do next. Have the possessed person renounce these curses and legal rights. This is done verbally by the host and verbally ratified by the demon.

When it comes to the actual expulsion of the demon, I prefer a precise, time-tested protocol. Our School of Exorcism details this procedure. I almost always use the same, exact wording. Why? It works. It’s effective. It seals the deal. It contractually binds the demon to his own declaration of doom. Once that takes place, the battle is essentially over. Only the final expulsion remains. Others who do deliverance may differ and have their own technique, some quite exotic and often not biblical. For me, having the ruling spirit, the strong man, say, “I go to the pit,” is crucial and confirming.

After 50,000 successful, documented exorcisms, this formula satisfies the “how” of telling a demon to leave. Even the spurious Jewish exorcists of Acts 19:13 knew enough to declare, “We adjure you by Jesus.” They had seen Paul cast out demons in this manner. What Paul did, I do, and add to it modern vernacular to bring closure in the deliverance process. If you’re interested in deliverance, enroll in our School of Exorcism. Watch examples on our YouTube exorcism channel and get on with the task of setting people free by the power of Christ.

7 Things Demons Hate

Many Christians, even devout evangelicals, believe in a God that is warm and fuzzy, overlooking evil and turning a wry glance at spiritual rebellion. But the Bible sees sin differently. Here is how Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV) states God’s view of iniquity: These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

The Living Bible puts it in modern language:  haughtiness, lying, murdering, plotting evil, eagerness to do wrong, a false witness, sowing discord among brothers.

Demons also hate certain things, and here is a list of seven. Demons hate it when Christians . . .

#1 – Tithe, pray, fast, read their Bibles, and follow biblical disciplines.

All Bible believers know that these disciplines are part of normal Christian living. But how many who say they follow Christ are truly faithful in all these areas? Cutting corners on giving to the Lord’s work, failing to maintain a consistent prayer life, avoiding the uncomfortable practice of periodic fasting and failing to study God’s Word delights demons. If you want to make the devil mad, do these things.

#2 – Speak out against moral evil socially, politically, and personally. What good is a watchman on the wall if he doesn’t cry out when the enemy is approaching? Psalm 127:1 (NKJV) puts it this way: “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” I’m not speaking of a particular political party or an ideological mindset. I am talking about issues which all God-fearing folks should agree on, such as opposition to abortion, gang violence, real racism, pornography, human trafficking, child sexual abuse, as examples. To be silent is to be complicate with demons.

#3 – Take practical steps to meet the needs of those around them.

James 1:27 (NKJV) says, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 2:15-16 adds. “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?” Demons hate it when Christians are aware of the practical needs of the ordinary lives of those around them.

#4 – Take the promises of God seriously with their faith, finances, and personal decisions.

James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” The practical ways in which Christians handle their faithful stewardship of faith and finances says much about how deep their convictions go. All the promises of God are conditioned upon our faithfulness in every walk of life. The devil banks on winning when we fail to walk the talk. Show your faith by your works. Put yourself in the position to prosper financially by being prudent and faithful with the resources God entrusts you with now. Make sound personal decisions guided by the advice and consent of wise counsel.

#5 – Understand and study spiritual warfare to fight back strategically against the devil.

Question: how many books on spiritual warfare have you read? I have written many. Have you read my books “Curse Breaking,” “Jezebel,” “How to Deal with Demons,” “Demon Proofing Prayers,” “Larson’s Book of Spiritual Warfare?” There are other mature Christian authors whose works you should devour. For example, I’ve had Pastor Vlad on Bob Larson Live and recommended his book “Fight Back.” I’ve interviewed Alexander Pagani and said you need to read his book “The Secrets to Deliverance.” Best of all, enroll in our School of Exorcism. Get facts to fight demons and win with strategic study of spiritual Warfare.

#6 – Submit yourself to personal inner healing and deliverance prayers.

You’re heard me say it many times, “Everyone needs deliverance.” Laura and I have prayed curse breaking and deliverance prayers over our three daughters. We pray over each other. I have submitted myself on occasion to receive prayer from mature men of God who oversee my life spiritually. Every pastor, preacher, teacher, worship leader, Sunday School teacher and Christian leader needs to have curses broken and spiritual oppression lifted by inner healing and Some even need demons cast out. No matter who you are, submit yourself for personal ministry. You’ll make demons go delirious.

#7 – Take the idea of demons seriously and do deliverance.

Doing deliverance is the best way to irritate the ire of demons. If you believe demons are real, act like it. Be courageous and do something to drive back devils. After you’ve gone through our School of Exorcism, get involved with one of our Do What Jesus Did (DWJD) teams. Ask if you can start a deliverance prayer team in your church. You don’t have to be perfect, but you do need training. Get it and get going. The more people we have casting out demons in a biblically responsible way the madder it will make demons.

Make the devil mad. Outrage the evil around you. Bring vexation on Satan for all the pain he’s put on you. Love what Jesus loves and do what demons hate. It one of the quickest ways I know

to grow your faith in the power of Christ. Remember the words of Jesus in John 15:19 (NKJV):
“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Make demons hate you and Jesus will love you.

Antonio Brown’s Demons of Destruction

NFL star Antonio Brown, who until yesterday played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been one of professional football’s top players. Unfortunately, his alleged criminal behavior and troubled life as a youth finally caught up with him. In the middle of the game, he ripped off much of his uniform and walked off the field. In doing so he left behind his multi-million-dollar salary and an extra potential $1 million in bonuses. In fact, at the peak of his career he was making $17 million a year!

After his antics yesterday he subsequently posted bizarre messages on social media. Why the meltdown? His Tampa Bay coach said that Brown was through with the team. Case closed. Tony Dungy, the great NFL coach and commentator, himself an outspoken Christian, said that no team should ever hire him until he gets help. But what kind of help? Is this just a case of emotional instability, possibly a bi-polar episode, or does Antonio Brown have demons? I suggest the latter, and I know what demons they are because I’ve dealt with them before: Sabotage and Destruction.

First, let’s look at Brown’s past. He was born to teenaged parents, likely illegitimate, which brings a curse as I’ve pointed out in my book “Curse Breaking.” In his youth he suffered homelessness and neglect. His dad was a star at football, but not at parenting. He kicked the young Antonio out of the house, leaving the youth to sleep on friends’ sofas. These friends belonged to a gang that controlled the area crack trade. Shootouts were common. His grades failed.

When his wayward father finally showed up in his during Antonio’s college football days, the young gridiron star walked away. But in the NFL, he bought a new Rolls Royce every year. He was stopped for speeding 55 mph over the limit. He played for the Pittsburg Steelers where he excelled. Then the Raiders who gave him a guaranteed $30 million bonus. He constantly ran afoul of league rules. Then he went to the Patriots for $24 million, until a former female trainer accused him of assault. He had met her at a Bible-study class while in college. On a personal level, Brown has fathered five children from different women. In 2002 her had a felony arrest warrant for battery and burglary.

Sabotage and Destruction. Those are the two demons I deal with in situations like this. Forget about the money and the exploits on the field. Brown, like many who hear me now, has a self-destruct switch that keeps flipping in the devil’s direction. The doors to these demons were opened by the abandonment and rejection he suffered at a young age. But Antonio Brown was exposed to the gospel. He had a chance to follow Christ. Sadly, he made a choice to give in to his impulses of personal annihilation. Don’t you make that mistake. You may not make the money that Brown did, but if you see things around you constantly imploding, you may have his same demons. Antonio Brown badly needs an exorcism. And if you, like him, find Sabotage and Destruction stalking you, we’re here to help. Schedule a personal encounter today before, like Antonio Brown, it’s too late.
